My son brought his laptop for me to see why it is taking forever to start. He stated that Avast nor Malwarebytes found anything. However, I ran an Avast Scan and it found one infected file

What is there to do? I'm assuming Avast has already quarantined the offending file(s). There's probably some option within Avast for permanently deleting the file(s).

You could run an independent online virus scan at Housecall, just to make sure

It has appeared in PA, NY, and MI in the US and in all three cases a quarantine was set up. You must be near the NY quarantine. The PA quarantine was lifted recently. The disease is from Europe and you should never see it, even in a quarantine zone. If you ever see it the USDA should be notified and the tree(s) should be destroyed. Google plum pox for more information. I have never seen it but I am alert for it anytime I get a new stone fruit tree or scion. Scott

KB2 Here are a couple of pictures of virused leaves. You be the judge as far as yours are concerned.. as you know best what yours look like. Yours do appear to be more like spots than the actual moasic pattern, and it does appear that you do infact have mealy bugs,but never having had mealy bugs (so far) I'm not sure what their sucking would do to the leaves...I do wish you luck.. I will say that the Oskar in the first picture showed the moasic pattern right off the bat..most often the leaves come out clear and healthy looking and then when the weather gets hot or they are stressed for some other reason then the sympoms appear (at least for me, living in the cooler coastal northeast.... I know that Avast will take care of it...I wanted to make sure that I should disable system restore first...sorry for the confusion. I also found an icon for Internet Protection and researched and found that it is malware. Malwarebytes didn't find it.....(more problems..he use to be able to connect to my wireless service. It doesn't find my router.) I tried hard wiring to update Malwarebytes and no go....
