zep et. al.: Sorry I didn't get back sooner but with my limited experience, I was a little leary of doing the uninstall of network adapter. However I finally realized that at worst it would only mess up the laptop and not the other devices that are connected and working on the secured network. So: I just uninstalled and rebooted. The adapter did reinstall but I am still not getting a proper connection although things have slightly changed. The secured network got connected, but did not even ask for the security password and simply went to 'validating identity' and simply hung. It didn't even time out. I checked firefox to see if it was expecting a password there, as was the initial case to get connected to the Guest Network (where I am again now), but it couldn't find the server. You may recall, that previously the issue was that the secured net would ask for the password, but find it unacceptable and give 'limited or no connectivity. Is there a way to force the network to ask for the password?? Any other ideas? Eventually, I will probably find a way to get a knowledgeable person out to my house where they could diagnose this. FYI, I am creating another post about security updates that may tangentially be connected to this thread. I apparently successfully installed sp3 but 'security update' keeps wanting to install it AGAIN! I was worried I might not be able to shut down to reload the adapter, but I was able to cancel the update.

I hate these five minutes of fame interviews done by the morning shows. All that interview was was damage control. It's no different from the famous idiots who publicly humiliate themselves and do the same thing to change public opinion. Mel Gibson, Tiger Woods, Koby Bryant to name a few. They dress up pretty, get prepped for a "controlled" interview and have their professional talking head sitting next to them to make it all seem like it's okay and under control. What's really appalling to me about this guy is not only was he able to talk about how many people agreed with his behavior (which I find hard to believe) he let Matt Lauer scold and force that girl to admit on live TV that she was wrong for posting a stupid letter on her facebook page. IMHO, they're all hypocrites because I don't know an adult alive who at some point during their teens didn't vent to their friends about their parents; the only difference now is thanks to technology, the manner in which it's done is different. Yes Facebook is a public network but her parents did allow her to have the account and she did post it on a PRIVATE page that he had to break into. Would I want to hear my daughter talking about me like that? Of course not but then again, I wouldn't have invaded her privacy the way he did. And honestly, there are a lot worse things she could be doing to lash out with her frustrations. Still instead of seeing there was a problem and working with her to fix it, he grounds her for "months" like she's in prison and destroys the equipment she needs for school. I also feel very strongly that instead of putting a minor on national so she could be further intimidated and humiliated by someone like Matt Lauer, he should be protecting her from the backlash of his stupid antics and taking classes to gain some freaking parenting skills. I just can't believe that people are buying into the facade and don't realize that the behavior in that video is uncensored and THAT guy is who that young girl is really living with, not the jerk on the couch.

I just hooked a 32" Curtis LCD TV up to my Desktop Computer a couple of hours ago. All I had to do was to Plug the TV into the Wall Plug and then Attach the VGA Plug to the TV. Once everything was connected I turned the TV on and set it to VGA using the Source Button/Input Button on the remote. I then turned on the Computer and that was all there was to it! BTW, I'm running Widows 10 Professional on my Desktop Computer! My daughter had the 32" Curtis LCD TV in her room. It started acting up and we couldn't get it to work. I happened to have a 32" Emerson LCD TV in my closet. The Emerson had stopped working and I was able to repair it. I gave the Emerson to my daughter. Last week she won a 48" Vizio LED TV and no longer needed the Emerson. I was going to put the Emerson back in my closet but had to remove the Curtis. When I took it out I decided to plug it in to see what the problem was so I could fix it. Well, plugged it in to the wall and my Cable Box In my bedroom, the TV was working fine. I decided to hook it up to the computer to let it run all night to check for problems (so far, so good, still working). This is a long story, but that's why I have it hooked to the Computer right now. Hooking up a Laptop isn't much different from a Desktop Computer! Hope this helps you out!
