can anyone tell me how to include a picture within a message?

I a little technically challanged! I did read through the help with images and still didn't see how to do this.

First of all you need an image hosting site - that's a place online to put the images - there are several free ones. I use photobucket.

After you register, click on "my album". There it will allow you to upload images. Once the images are at the hosting site, there will be some code called "html tag".
Cut and paste that code into your message.

Kitt, I think Shutterfly is set up so that you'd have to send an invite to each of us to view your images. It's not uncommon to have the chlorosis your plants are exhibiting accompanying the use of soils that have large fractions of coir or CHCs. I mentioned (I think here) recently that there are pH issues associated with the use of CHCs that make many of the minor elements difficult for plants to assimilate, and excess water retention can make it difficult for root function/metabolism to work at the level of the plants genetic potential within the limiting constraints of other cultural factors. When making your own soil with CHCs, it's virtually impossible to use lime a a source of Ca/Mg because of CHC's already high pH. Odds are very good you're seeing some of the results of that high pH level in the chlorosis, as noted. If you don't/can't use lime you may well need to go to using gypsum + Epsom salts as your sources because almost all soluble fertilizers that utilize urea for their N lack Ca and Mg. These compounds are very good choices because their impact on pH is not significant enough to be a consideration. The things I would suggest, in the order I would select: * Start the repotting process into a durable, fast draining soil with a more favorable pH asap. * Acidify your irrigation water to help compensate for the high media pH. Add enough vinegar or citric acid (find where they sell supplies to make wine) to bring your irrigation water to a pH * If it was someone else, I would caution them to water correctly, so they are flushing the soil at every watering, but I'm sure you're wellversed in how to water correctly, so I'll spare the details. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know. Good luck, but I'm sure you'll have everything straightened out in no time. You guys are so cute...I am laughing my head off! Courtney, you are one determined gal I have to say! Go girl! Don't let a little old mystery plant defeat you. I do have to say it has defeated me. I just plain give up. And I may just have to keep cutting it down once or twice a year forever since I have valuable plants all around it which I can't afford to get Round-Up around. (Sigh) Dawn and Randy...We will try to stop making you have headaches and sleepless nights over this silly plant of mine, and now Courtney's as well...it has been a most frustrating ordeal trying to figure out this one...lol. I might not have ever posted for an I.D. if I had known what a pain the neck it would be...but now I am sort of glad I did in some ways since now I realize what a "special" plant I have...lol. It will just be another of many odd twists in my gardening attempts and the plant may win in the end as when I get too old or too tired to fight it any more it may grow up to be a huge tree right up against the fence...lol. I can just imagine being very old, (or perhaps not so old, if it continues to grow as fast as it appears to now), and I will go outside with my cane or walker to see what all my mystery tree has pushed over and crowded out. Surely it will get the fence between us and the neighbors, the neighbors crepe myrtle and red bud tree. The neighbors patio and the southeast corner of our house,(from it's roots) and all my red tipped photinias as well as the pocket garden I have next to the "mystery" tree with roses and hibiscus and lots of other flowers will die from it's shade...no telling what all it will over power...haha. And I will look back and remember the valiant effort all of you made to help give me an identity. When I write my life's story I will be sure to include the story of my "mystery" tree, and all of your names will be mentioned, with your permission only, of course, as putting forth such valiant efforts in order to tell the world what this monster plant actually is. how long do you water 2x a week, also do you have a sprinkler system. they look very vigorous which means they are getting probably too much of something also, some kinds have to be older to bloom better just remember, where they bloom the best, in the Key's, they get NOTHING. you might want to try this: buy bloom fertilizer, mix as per direction and spray the leaves, but don't do it in the middle of the day. i did that with my bleeding heart and it helped to produce blooms.

You literally cut and paste the code into the link - for example,

There's more, but hopefully this will show you how. - you actually type in (or better yet, cut and paste the html code)

I was waiting for Mightyanvil to jump in, but he must be busy. This is his standard post and is the easiest way I know to post photos.

To post a photo:
go to http://tinypic.com (it's free and no sign up is required)

select "browse" and go find your jpg, png, gif, or tif photo file and select it (it will be automatically downsized to 250K)

select the "upload image" button

copy the contents of the "HTML" window and paste it into the text part of your message.

Now preview you message. If you can see the photo, submit the message

If you are unsure of yourself try all of this first at the "test forum" which is linked at the bottom of the main forum page. You might have to play with the dimensions of the original photo to keep the downloaded version from being too large since that sometimes stretches the text of all messages to the right (possibly off the screen)"

You copied the IMG code instead of the HTML. It should start and end with carrots

zone 8grandma, we are building in Kansas. We broke ground Sept. 19th......GC has always said 1 year, but we are hopeful for a couple weeks early, if not a month early.

I'll have to look up the zones, I don't know where zone 8 is - LOL!
