Frank: What cherry are you growing that is coloring already? I have grown North Star for many years. Not colored yet but soon. As far as netting, at the first sign of pink I spray one application of Malathion (short residual) in the hope of controlling cherry fruit fly. Then I net the tree. No spraying after netting even if I do get powdery mildew sometimes. As far as netting, I use a post pounder and put in 4-8' stakes suitable for staking up a tomato plant in each corner around the tree. Since these are too short, I attach another 4' stake that is perhaps 1/2" diameter to the top of the post with a large automotive hose clamp. ON top of the smaller stake, I put on an upside down gallon milk jug. This is to prevent the stake from tearing the netting. Then I slide the top stake thru the loose hose clamp as high as I need to go and tighten the clamp. This system makes it easy to adjust for height as the tree gets taller. The netting is a large plastic netting thaI I stretch out behind the tree. We use two garden rakes to lift the netting and carefully get it over the tree (short stepladder on each side of the tree is helpful). This is not easy unless you have the whole family out then everyone pitches in. Once the net is over the tree, I staple the netting on the top sides of the 4 stakes. The bottom 1/2 is not stapled but drapes down. The netting touches the ground so I put a long wood stake horizontal along the ground to hold each side down in the wind and prevent birds from going underneath. This system allows me to lift up the netting on the sides and put my 6' stepladder inside to pick the fruit. Usually I make several pickings as the fruit in the center of tree ripens last. Fortunately my North Star is pruned to 8' height as too tall makes it hard to net. Last year I got 28 quarts of cherries (after pitting)! This year the crop is lighter but still a crop. Since my apples/pears/plums frosted out this year, at least I have some cherries to pick once ripe. Out of 3 tart cherry trees, this one made it thru the spring frosts due to location. Yes it is work, but if I don't net at the first sign of pink on the fruit, the birds will clean me out in just a few days.

Thank you Raven. I am using firefox and have done what you sid, but even tho adblock plus is inactive for that site and staples is whitelisted, it still does not allow me to see the product details. It gives me the same message about firefox not being able to commect to doubleclick. I also do not allow 3rd party cookies. I have been sick for a few days and haven't been on the computer until now. today, I thought maybe if I logged off, maybe it would work, so I shut down. When I logged back on, I cannot get firefox to load at all. When I go to the other user's account, I CAN get firefox. I can get anything else I've tried, except a couple of test downloads. I am on IE now, but I don't like it. I have the same staples problem with opera and IE also. I don't have any problem with the office depot site. Now I am wondering if I uninstall and reinstall firefox is the way to go. But I will wait to hear from someone here. I don't want to mess up the other user permanently. Oh yeah, I did an updated full malwarebytes scan and it came up clean. Shall I do an uninstall or does someone have another idea about getting firefox to load? My 1951 house has similar "ranch" windows in the bedrooms - they're 30 inches high including the casings. When I bought the house they all had short pinch-pleat drapes, which I think seriously lack visual appeal. On the other hand, I also think that floor-length panels usually look a little silly with high, horizontal windows. There is a way to make them work: if they frame a piece of furniture, such as a buffet, dresser, or bookcase that fills the gap under the window, the effect is pretty good. That's what I'm doing in the bedroom that I use as an office, where long panels will bracket a lateral file cabinet. Otherwise, I think the best visual effect is with roman shades. I've purchased (but not yet installed) woven-wood roman shades for my bedroom; they have a 6-inch self-valance, so I had them cut 36 inches long, to mount above the top casing and extend to the bottom casing. I also plan to use valances (mounted even higher), and a single long panel to fill a gap where the a window is off-center in an alcove. In the guest room I'll probably use just roman shades (I want the appearance from the street to be the same in both rooms). Ranch windows continued to be used at least through the 1960s and still serve a valid purpose, in that they allow taller furniture to be placed below them, which is helpful in small rooms with limited wall space. But they are difficult to decorate effectively, and if you are aiming for a traditional appearance, the strategy of placing furniture below the window is one of only a few I know that works. Another, which I've seen done in basements with high windows, is to use a top-down/bottom-up shade that is about twice as long as the height of the window. If it's opened from the top downward, it gives the illusion that the window is twice as deep as it really is. This works best if the shade, installed outside the casing, is wide enough to cover the sides of the casing, so that the absence of any casing (or window) in the lower part is concealed. A third, which is similar to the second, is to install a double row of shutters. In this kind of installation, the upper row can be opened for light and view, but the lower row, which has nothing behind it but the wall, is kept closed.

If you are running W10 then you could open Edge and when you have said article on screen and click on an open book icon top right which is reading view and you would have the article minus any advert crap, this is a very nice feature of Edge.
