I'm glad to here from you Florence. You have such an important place here. We all miss you. At least now you know what is wrong with your hip and have a prognosis. You will be up and about by spring though I know it will take sometime for you to be 100%. And the same for your daughter, it will take time. In my opinion her husband didn't leave soon enough. I'm hoping that with your help she may find the same comfort and inspiration in growing things that I have found in difficult times. I believe that as important as a love is he does not complete your life. You find that completeness in yourself and then share it with someone who is worthy. Nothing in the print queue. Checked out HP Solutions. Everything is updated. I've rebooted several times. I do have the disk, but hope to not have to do that. Those were all good ideas. I went back to the manual and looked through the index, and sure enough, there it was: "delete faxes from memory." Even though I haven't sent any faxes I followed the directions and, voilà�, it prints! But I still hear that noise that I thought was a paper jam. No jam, front or back. I went back to HP Solutions and kept hunting until I found a neat little video that shows how to open the Control Panel to look for a jam there. I tried and it seems like it will take a real hard tug; it doesn't just come open. Now what, should I pull hard on it and hope it opens? Sue

It sure does sound like a feed problem. As I recall from the last time I opened up a printer, there are two types of roller. I will call them guide and feed. The feed rollers are the ones than develop traction with the paper to move it. If you can locate them, and they are rubber they can be cleaned with denatured alcohol. Being "mechanically inclined" I wouldn't hesitate to dismantle the printer as much as needed. As you reported a basic replacement is cheap. A month or so a go I purchased a HP C4680 AIO from HP delivered for $79.00 plus tax. It replaced a HP F380 AIO. DA

Owbist, The site U sent me is great..I looked at MANY sites but none was as good as this one. It did answer some questions for sure. I know how to change the setting to Best..normal & Draft BUT it won't let me change. The dot is in normal & I can't change it as the best & draft are grayed out. I guess I'm gonna have to call HP on the phone.. I don't like to as I can't understand most of them..They are in India. I tried once already & it disconnected. I'll try tomorrow & maybe I'll have better luck. Thanks & if U or anyone knows how to make them active please help me. You speak much clearer than India does :-) Dar
