I have the Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman wheel which has been working good up until the last month or so. The ball seems to be sticky (for lack of a better term)and rolls somewhat rough. I've changed the battery as instructed in the trouble shooting section of the instructions but that doesn't seem to be the cause of the problem.

I contacted Logitech and they referred me to the web site about cleaning trackballs, but that only refers to non-optical track balls.

Does anyone else use the Optical Trackman wheel and have this problem. I have heard of someone unscrewing it and cleaning it that way, but hesitate to do something like that if there's another solution.
