I seem to have a similar problem, no fuel to the machine. However, it is strange that when it lies on its left side (when I stand behind and facing it) it seems to get the fuel and can be primed, while standing in normal position it does not get fuel and cannot be primed even when I held down the safety bar (required during starting and running). After priming it and returning it to standing position, it can be started, but it stopped almost instantly - most likely due to lack of fuel. How do I solve this problem? It's not the water noise that bugged me about our old one, I can hear that with our Bosch. It's was the motor! We have an L-shaped house with the kitchen at the top and my bedroom at the bottom end of the L. I could hear that thing all the way back there, with the door closed. Also, DH snores really loudly when he eats a lot of grains (changed diet, not a problem anymore) so I'd find myself on the couch pretty often. It's nice to be able to sleep through the cycle when it's running 20 ft away. When we first installed the Bosch, I thought we'd done something wrong because I couldn't hear any start-up noise. This was the first appliance we replaced in this house and it's set the bar pretty high. I'm still enamored with it and it's been about 3-4 years. LG's are pretty quiet. So, even though it wasn't a deciding factor for you, you do enjoy the benefit.

CP, You may have had the same complaint with the Miele you passed up, too, if you're using Ecover or the Seventh Generation stuff. Try using Electrasol, Cascade or Finish or something else enzymatic. Do a search here for Ecover - there have been hordes of posters who've not had good results with Ecover in their Bosch AND Miele DWs and had to revert to the more pedestrian, non-green brands. There have been some who've been satisfied, but a statistically significant -and LARGE- (with caveats) number of Bosch/Miele owners who've not done well with it over the years. Try a different DW brand. I use a half Miele tab in mine and everything - everything comes out spanking clean! every time. And I only do a load every 3 - 5 days, with no rinsing so my load is definitely crusty. I think of it as my incredible cleaning machine because all my stuff is so sparklingly shiny when its done. I'd used Electrosol with similar results as well as some generic thing (forget name) which also worked brilliantly. Do check that it has no chlorine-bleach and that it contains enzymes, though.

I had the same problem, not draining at all. I ensured the drain hose was not crimped. I then removed the hose from the air gap and put it in the sink and ran the DW, it did drain into the sink so the problem was: the air gap, or the hose from the air gap to the garbage disposal. I took the hose off from the air gap to garbage disposal and checked that - no blockage. I took the air gap out, and saw it was blocked. This air gap allowed me to take it apart: a broken piece of glass had jammed in the air gap, and a small piece of plastic had jammed against the glass thus totally blocking the air gap. I cleaned it out the the DW works fine.
