Yes, upon reflection, an underccounter oven would not be good for my back. I was thinking that maybe I would only use the second oven for parties and holidays, but sometimes we have friends over every weekend. Good point about the cost of separate ovens. I do like the look of double ovens, too. Especially the Bosch 800 series and the Kenmore Pro, but it is very hard to find anything on them...few mixed reviews online. I will ask on this forum. And do some research on Electrolux as well, since they seem to be popular here. I saw the Wolf cooktop at Great Indoors. My mother has a Wolf range, but she hates to cook. Lol. I have accepted that I can't vent with an OTR MW. I will have to spring for an undercabinet hood. Bleah. $1400. Ugh. Loss of cabinet space. Boo. I am thinking that, since I was planning for stacked 42" + !2" or 36" + 18", I will have to mount the MW under a cabinet...h'mmm...maybe I will have to do a mullion door on a 36" or 42", since the 12" or 18" are supposed to be mullion? Thought briefly about putting MW in island, but kids are 6 and 10 and tall, too. LOVE the Kitchens forum. It looks.like close to the same amount of space that we have in our KA Superba, which we bought 9 years ago and has never given us a problem. I will look at KA fridges, thank you! I need the MW drawer money for the undercabinet hood. Boo. But the fridge isn't in my appliance budget, anyway. Lol.

A few induction tips: (Love my Induction-- user for 8+ years) Cleaning takes only a few minutes! I cut up old, soft towels to clean the top. Dampen a clean one with hot water and use a drop of Dawn or Joy; rub the cooktop with the soapy-side then flip the rag to just-the-wet side and wipe off the soap. Buff with a clean, dry towel-rag. (I have the stainless steel top and bottom edge--cleaning them this way is no problem.) ONLY USE A CLEAN RAG (sponge, paper towel) EACH TIME for washing or drying the top! I am concerned about thermal-shock to the glass. Get a nice, thick, silicone trivet/potholder and put it on a corner of your cooktop. A great place to move hot pots and pans to or to place pans, safely, from the oven. Learn NOT TO shake pans! (PS - I have used paper towels under pots. They can get scorched. And the one kind seemed to leave a trace of its waffle-pattern that I had to buff out with the cook-top crème. I now just try to use a bigger pot for things prone to bubbling over -- oil, oatmeal, etc.)

Rangetops are not more reliable than cooktops. The advantage of the rangetop is that you don't splatter grease nearly as easily on the knobs ,with oversized pots you can get a situation where the knob(s) is under the pot and gets hot,and lastly you loose cooking space with the cooktop...and usually a 6th burner. In your price range a good option is Caldera.Pretty powerful,good quality and good price because the company is no longer in business. You don't get a warranty but I doubt you will need it. I am 99.99% certain you will never need proprietary parts,any competant repairman can fix with generic parts. Like ignitor and spark module in the distant future. In the link below store sells for $929 but you may find it cheaper somewhere else. If buying from a defunct small compay just plain scares the bejesus out of you then I would go with GE Profile JGP975SEKSS. I don't think you are getting extra peformance or value with Electrolux. You are paying for their price-fixing policy.The GE Profile 18k btu dual-stacked power burner is the same exact buner found in uberexpensive GE Monogram ranges. I just had a 30 inch drop in cooktop installed in my new home last month, heres something that ppl may wanna know before buying this cooktop. 1. there is NO integrated wok like the Rangetop, as most video showed, you have to use a wok ring BUT you will be too high from the flame and the flame can only cover a small area of your wok pan, which is completely useless. That makes me really sad cuz thats one of the most important function i want from a bluestar. 2. the star shape flame although is center focused, but it only covers 6~8 inches (22k btu at max) of your pan, which is really small if you are using a 13 inches flat bottom fry pan. traditional seal burner can cover 10~12 inches ( 2 rings 14k btu sealed burner) 3. Although it is 22k btu, but because of the bowl shape, the burner is actually 2 1/2 inches lower that the regular sealed burner, that design will greatly reduce the flame area and firepower. 4. the 30 inches cooktop has better design that the 36 inches cooktop, because 2 front burners are 22k btu, so yout can put your griddle there for best result. The 36 inches has tow 22k btu burners 1 at left and 1 at right with knobs in the middle, so you can only put griddle vertically to get one 22k and one 8.3k under your griddle. 5. the performance is no where close to the bluestar 25k btu ranges/rangetops. i know they are much more expensive, but if you have the cash and space, get them instead. Here is a link of a top chinese brand cooktop in NA, i was so regret i didnt get this one instead, if you want something that has the same btu and easiser to clean up that bluestar, this would be your best fit, and it cost almost half than bluestar cooktop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNK3AK675u8 so my conclusion is, this blue star cooktop is good, but does not worth the price tag, especially when they nerfed the integrated wok function, if you just want a high btu cooktop, this might not be your only choice, i know bluestar is open burner and more even heat, but the heating area is pretty small compares to a high btu traditional burner. overall bluestar cooktop is not bad, but if you expecting some professional cooking, get the range/range top instead.
