I haven't seen this thread either. It's been an interesting read. Growing up Methodist in the South,, I have attended my fair share of funerals. I do not care for open caskets. Would rather remember them up and about. I have only attended traditional funerals, nothing more fun like Funkyart's trout stream story. The most moving was the service of DD2's friend since they were 2yo. They were in 7th grade when they found out she had leukemia. She died within 2wks. It was a Jewish graveside service. One gal from HS seems to have the hobby of posting about deaths, the information on services, and attending funerals. Even those she wasn't friends with, just knew of. I totally do not get that obsession. For decades, my father made it very clear he hated HATED funerals and wanted to be cremated. He wasn't the approachable kind, so I never asked why. When he died by suicide, Mom was close to death, so I just had him cremated and spent as much time as I could with her during her final weeks. Per his last written wishes, her ashes were put in an urn with his, and a few months later we had a private, immediately family only dispersing of the ashes. Only one (a married couple) of his lifelong friends kept questioning me on when was the private memorial. Even one of their sons said to me several times "they want to be included." Um, no. All of their other friends understood. Honestly, I do not want a funeral either. Neither does DH. As far as the poster that said those left behind do not get closure without a funeral or memorial service, I have to disagree.

Just curious, why is the show titled that? Is the protagonist a fleabag? Is that her nickname? It's rather off putting; can't really think what is possibly appealing about being or being called a fleabag. Yes, that's pretty much it. Her character is never given a name in the show, and never referred to as "Fleabag" or "a fleabag", but you are definitely left with the impression that she's someone who perhaps views herself or is viewed by others as an undesirable element. The show is actually brilliantly named; there's something very touching about the way the name of the series portrays the title character in all of her brutally honest humanity.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but views lacking in fact or reality as a basis aren't subject to the same respect, in my opinion. Here's a funny thing about "corporations who profit". These are the ones who innovate new and better products and services, offer employees steady work, customers reliable goods and services, and suppliers business. Corporations who don't profit go out of existence and offer none of these stakeholders anything. They also offer shareholders returns on their investment. If you think a company makes a lot of profit, buy stock to become an owner and take advantage of it yourself. I have no emotional interest in Amazon but as Lucille and others have said, I respect the company for its innovations and for the broad categories of its offerings that have made things easier and more convenient for me and for others. Irrational and uninformed attacks are sad to encounter. Amazon is a big target to attack. Those with jealousy or having a bad day - go to it.
