Dollar store pumpkins and a Fall Mantel

Ok, here's another one. This blogger painted and decorated some dollar store pumpkins. Plus I think her Fall mantel is really neat. Her candy corn wreath is adorable. If you click ON a photo, you can see a larger version. Then hit your back button to return to blog and her other pictures.

How creative! I wonder where she got the black trees. The candy corn wreath is adorable they seem to be popular now.The skull and daises is a riot. Yikes I meant to spell spooktacular in my post to Kathleen.

Hi, Thanks everybody! Ironically. the curio cabinet is one I bought for my oldest daughter to display her Precious Moments collection. Her decor changed once she got married and had a family and she gave it back to me. I change the decor for the seasons, and really enjoy having it. NanaKaren, I use TS for any thrift store as I go to GoodWill, ARC, Salvation Army, Family Thrift, and a local one called Unique. It is just my generic term for any thrift store. Thanks all. :-) I'm looking forward to setting up a "pumpkin themed" table for the brunch we're having on Thanksgiving for my parents. I'll switch out the centerpiece to include my large ceramic pumpkin tureen (it matches the little bowls I just got) and the bowls will be serving pieces for that meal. I'll post pictures when I get it all set up. DD, I really didn't do much decorating. A table in the living room, the fireplace mantle, the front window, and the outdoor basket is all (aside from the dining table, of course). All very minimally done. My thanksgiving stuff fits in three smallish boxes...a far cry from the tubs and boxes for Halloween. You're right, I don't have the energy for much after October! :-)

I went to Walmart, they had Libbys canned pumpkin for $1.68 for a 2 cup can OR a fresh pumpkin, any size for $3.68. I purchased this 17.5lb pumpkin.....then cooked/pureed & froze it. No pumpkin shortage here....

First, it is not an indoor plant and will not be happy inside for any length of time. The baskets are intended for outdoors, hanging on porches, etc. It needs bright light to bloom well but not full sun. Morning sun and afternoon shade is ideal. The soil should be kept evenly moist - not too wet and not allowed to dry out - and you will need to fertilize regularly to encourage blooming all summer. Deadheading - pinching off the little "berries" that form after the flowers fade - will help to encourage more flower production.

Lots of good ideas on that first one, and very do-able. I think I just procrastinate too darn much, I need to be more productive! LOL

The pushing up daisies--would have been more "Halloweeny" with black flowers I think. 'o)

Jeanne, after doing my decorating for Fall/Halloween today and still having quite a few things leftover with no where to use them--I guess I have been productive the last couple of years! LOL Between making things and buying things, all my surfaces and some wall space are filled up as well as pieces outside. Will I quit??? No way, I love the fun of crafting way too much. I do think I'll ask my DIL if she'd like some of it--usually my creations are a bit too "country" for her taste, but sometimes she likes the holiday things.
