Looking for older pictures of Christmas.....

....decorations and Christmas tree in purples. The poster also did Holloween decorations, mostly in purple and black and plenty of terrific witches hats and boots.

I've been telling a friend about these pictures of both seasonal decorations, My favorite color is purple and altho I don't decorate with that color, the pictures always knocked my socks off. I actually think I swooned every time I looked at them. :) Forgive me if I'm wrong but I believe the poster was candy something?

I've probably been searching in the wrong forums and can't find them. Can anyone 'connect' me to the links of these pictures? I have just GOT to show them to my friend.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me in finding these.

Welcome Jenna, I'm sure it is Candy's creations your looking for. You can scroll throught the Oct. and Dec. posts and probably find the pictures. Maybe when Candy sees this she will be able to reload the pictures for you to share w/o all the searching.

Stage, The red flower is Coreopsis "Mahogany Midget". It really IS a midget, too! I keep reading conflicting info that says they are perennial or annual. I'm hoping they're perennial and will make a bigger showing next year. It's only about five inches tall and of the HOS I divided, one patch is about three inches wide, the other about five. And I have to say, I'm really loving that white Yarrow. I'm glad I didn't sick of it and yank it out last year. The bene-bugs seem to really like it too. VJ, I think I like those red trays. I have one tomato plant I have from indoor sowing (which was one of 16 that I started indoors for my FIL-- he gave me a plant in payment, lol)and it's supposed be able to grow to 8ft. I've been pulling blotched leaves off of that one, but the others that I WSed for myself(Cherokee, Mortgage Lifter, Grape and Cherry toms) have good, clean-looking leaves. It does seem the red trays are helping to keep them from sprawling and, I think, helping speed up their growth. Linda

Jan, Thanks for the reply! Yes, I did mean Satin Glass... typo as I am using my dad's laptop and the keyboard is sooooo small! And I am sure that Gauguin is what I am after (how could two growers come up with something that off the wall that was that close!), although the way that I spelled it was the way that it was printed on the invoice. Remember when invoices were typed rather than printed by computer? :) I don't think I would have gone back and corrected it if I were the seller, even IF I noticed it :). I had looked for most of these on Tinkers, but will try Satin Glass again and see if I made the same typo when I searched!! Thanks again! Julie

jt...that is a worrisome description you give of your friend. The combination of eating the french fries and then describing how thin she is and the condition of her teeth leads me to think that she is purging by vomiting, known as bulimia.The stomach acids eat away the enamel on the teeth. It is very very common. I ran with a friend that did it. I finally confronted him after hearing him in the bathroom. We would eat lunch and he would have all of this stuff that one wouldn't think a runner would eat. Then he would always have a reason for going to the bathroom. i followed him and listened. So sad. He also would stop by the trail to supposedly urinate but he was actually vomiting the snacks/lunch we had eaten. He was able to finally get it under control. As an aside he is a clinical psychologist Phd. My DD had a friend in high school who also purged. Her Mom found glass jars of vomit in the girl's closet. Really really sad. The Mom is an MD and did seek help but it was very hard for this gal to accept help. She had to go away to a facility in order to get well. Thank you! Can hardly wait to see the Christmas pictures! I've been looking all over for them, including Pinterest.

My best friend lost her husband of many years at the beginning of May and she has decided that she is going to 'do up' Christmas this year in memory of him. Because of her husband's serious illness and being a quad-paraplegic, she hasn't decorated for the holidays in several years, other than maybe a wreath on her front door.

This is the first enthusiasm I've seen from her in months. She didn't want to do traditional and her husband loved the color purple. My GF and my husband used to call us the Purple Bobbsy Twins because purple is also one of my favorite colors. When she mentioned it a couple weeks ago I immediately thought of the purple Christmas and Holloween pictures that was posted here and have been on the hunt ever since. Unfortunately, she lives in Georgia and we now live in Arizona (both of us originally from California) so all our ideas are thru emails, links and phone calls.

I'm really trying to keep her interested and enthusiastic even tho the Christmas holidays are a couple months away. To make it even worse, she lost her mom just six months before her husband. I know it's going to be really hard for her the closer the holidays get so I want to help to make it interesting and fun.

BTW, isn't there a holiday inspiration galleries (trees, mantels, porches, etc.) on GW? Am I completely missing it?
