Thanks for the suggestions folks :) I do plan on printing up a basic set of instructions. And the envelope thing isn't too rough, I can make up around 50 of them in an hour. And since we are hopefully going to keep the guest list to around 25 or so, that isn't too many jars to pack up with seeds. I want to do garden in a jar because I'm asked fairly often what I'm putting in my garden and where do I get my seed from? Thought it would be a nice way to share that with my friends. These seeds aren't going to be thrown around I hope- I hope they take them home and plant them. Most of them either already garden or are looking to get more into gardening, so I thought this would work :) Seed bombs- yep, those are playing into the wedding too. I'm making wildflower seed loaded paper bits for people to throw in the wildflower field where we are planting a tree for the unification part of the ceremony.

We got two gifts in total. A vacuum cleaner and a pressure cooker. Both most welcome and the pc is still in use. No ’shower’ and only 8 wedding guests. Just parents, siblings and their spouses. DD got married during covid with the permitted 6 guests but a year later we had a party with 100 guests. They requested no gifts, just donations to two charities. The Italian side of the family found this diffcult to grasp and gave a lot of knickknacks they neither want nor need.

You're so right. I've seen similar situations . . . people trying to save money by having a friend do the pictures. Why these friends think they are qualified to shoot a wedding, I have no idea. Years ago when I was working for a newspaper one of my co-workers asked me to do her wedding photography. I said I would do the candids if she got someone else to do the posed pictures. She didn't, and I didn't. I was relieved, to tell you the truth. Your five-year-old is off to a good start!

Ant farms are a great way to provide extra ants should you run short at a picnic. So often, public places that have picnic tables and those tables are, well, at best gross. I use either tarps that I get for free or a few cents after rebate, cheap shower curtain liners, or plastic roll sheeting for painting that's cheap and use as a tablecloth. I also take recloseable bags, fill them with water and freeze them to set under cold meat trays and things that I want somewhat chilled. Works well and is cheap. Another thing you can do for cold salads is to take a large bowl, fit another bowl inside it, then fill water between them. Freeze it and you have a freezer bowl to keep that potato salad well chilled. Remember it's not the (commercially made) mayo that causes illness from the heat, it's the potatoes and eggs (and various other things)! "Hot food hot - cold food cold", and hot means hot, not warm, and cold means cold, not cool. 40ð-140ð is the danger zone. If you have a hot day, don't keep your cooler in the trunk (aka "oven"), keep it in the car where it's cooler. And keep plenty of trash containers around so there's no excuse for littering.
