The spring fling is in the morning, I'm excited. I know I'm new to the forum and to starting my own gardens but I'm still excited about the gathering and getting to meet so many new people. I haven't really introduced myself, so I'll give a small bio. My name is Rachel,I'm 23 years old and I live NE OK, near Tulsa. I'm originally from CA but my father was in the army when I was younger, and well...this is where we ended up. I've been with the same wonderful man for the last five years and we plan to get married. We bought a house, a fixer upper, this past fall and the front and back yards are in desperate need of plants, lol. I grew up with a wonderful mother, who loves plants and gardening, so Im really excited about fixing up my yards. Also, I work at a Lowes, in the outside lawn and garden, so I spend just about everyday taking care of plants and helping people select the right plants. I was going to bring a painting and a stuffed owl for door prizes, but my friend really wanted the painting so I'll try to find something else. Also, I found the seeds that I collected from my mothers garden, from this past fall. I'll bring them incase someone wants some. That way I'll have something to trade, and won't feel like such a mooch if someone gives me something. : ) I hope everyone sleeps good tonight and I can't wait to meet all of you. -Rachel

Usually any file in a temp folder thats over a couple days old.. I usually have no problems deleting. If I'm concerned for some reason I just add OLD on the end of its file extension. I ocasionally search .*old and clean up those gathering dust. I use slimware.com / slimdrivers to update drivers if I cant find them, or figure out which one at the motherboard manufacturers site. Always make a special restore point before doing any driver installs.

oopsie - where in the "nook" would you put the bookcase? It's where it is now because 1) I had planned on doing built-on bookcases on either side when we built the house, had been looking for a matching (IKEA) one for other side until my dad brought the Victrola over and 2) now it balances the Victrola. The Victrola is on that side b/c of where the crank is. The LS is 5ft long and 3ft deep - so can't move it to other end of area rug until we make the nook bigger, since it's too hard to get past Ds's chair. I don't want to move the sofa down closer to the bay - I like it centered on the slider. Eventually we'll build in bookcases and a window seat (not deep - will follow the contours of the bay so we can still fit the tree). The opening to the bay is 9 ft across, with 1ft 11" wall space on either side (where bookcase and Victrola are). Until we can afford to get that done we're living with the sofabed (bad idea to put it in the "great room" open to kitchen), we were trying to seat 5-7 people so bought LS and then found ottoman at GW, but I'm willing to get rid of the LS and ottoman as long as we can still seat 4-5 comfortably (not on wooden dining chairs & barstools). 2 chairs could be split up on either side of slider, LS cannot ;-) I sort of like the monochromatic scheme (very soothing), but would like to bring more pattern (besides tone-on-tone stripes) into the room. I wouldn't be adverse to painting the walls a different color when/if we redo the tile in the kitchen, but it would have to work with the oak cabinets, pine trim, tan carpet, linen shades and khaki/mocha sofa. Well, maybe not the carpet b/c if/when we do tile (and sunroom) I'd likely be putting hardwoods in FR. But the sofa and shades have to stay - we have too much $$ into them.

Update: they've decided against the resort for lots of reasons, some logistic, some esthetic, mostly they just couldn't "see" a wedding there in their respective mind's eyes. That last is probably the most important qualification or lack thereof.....I think DD was looking for a place that would make her say yes, this is a place I would really like to have a wedding, and that would make her want to have one We have backed out of the planning/ viewing / discussion process. We told the couple we would give them X amount of money to do with as they wish and have offered an engagement party here at home in the spring, probably May. I think they will likely just elope in early December. Last night some of our city friends hosted a dinner party in honor of their engagement. It was lovely amd DD and DF enjoyed themselves very much but have strongly discouraged or simply refused all other offers of parties, luncheons or showers. Much to my mother's disappointment!
