Yep, I'm with you, Remy, it is not a blue red, but a warm red. All five of mine were all planted last year, and overwintered just fine. They are leaners, similar in habit to the larger Coreopsis, like 'Sunburst'. I've tried staking, and just planting it in front of something it can lean on, and mingle with. It goes well with everything in my garden, but then again, I tend to stick with warmer colors, so YMMV. Bonnie

I don't know what one it is but I'm sure it is a type III which should be hard pruned every year in early spring or late winter. Type III's bloom on new wood and the bare legs and blooms all clustered at the top is what will continue to happen if you don't prune it. Personally, I would prune it to the ground and fertilize it and keep it watered but many would not prune so drastically. If that freaks you out you could prune one of the vines to the ground and leave the other one longer.

I am so glad all of you enjoyed that gal's decor as much as I did. I'd NEVER have thought of using Transferware pieces like that in the bathroom on the counter. Since I'm nuts about plates, I'd put them anywhere tho. LOL. Her floral arrangement over the mirror is my very favorite. I'd love to do something similar to mine. I have a long counter, tho its L-shaped. My mirror has no space above it for plates or anything, but I could do a floral garland along the top easily. (in fact I do for Christmas). I still can't believe she has a BIG warehouse FULL of just transferware. Bet the Greenie Monster attacked a bunch of you on that part. I can just see all your DHs being told to look what she got for her dishes! LOL. OA, the wording on my new platter is interesting. Some is printed, some is script, some looks like actual handwriting. And it says all different kind of stuff, even to being latin names for some of the butterflies and plants. The two bluish marks on the top left are realistic postal "stamps". Sorry I took so long in replying here..I had lots of errands today. Thank You All, for such nice compliments. I'm so glad you liked what you saw. I'm still fiddeling around with the correct lighting on my camera. The color in my pictures, is still a little washed out. Anyway... ncnana..It took me awhile to find the right places to shop for the right prices. I spent many a Saturday bargain hunting at all sorts of sales..mainly out of necessity!! lol kathleen...that's a nice idea with using Greens for Christmas. I do usually use this cabinet around the holidays. I display my Halloween/Christmas things. With this new look...I might be thinking differently on how to set it up. phonegirl.. My first piece was many years ago. It's a large platter with a Thanksgiving scene on it...I got it at an auction for $4. It's very old and,is in the Hutch w/another small dish in front of it. As far as all the Old Britian Castles...I started this past year. My first 'Big' score was last winter in an old shop. I got several pieces -Large Bowls, cereals, cups & saucers..and small plates for $20! That got me going. Then on Ebay, during the Summer, when it was slow, I got some good deals on the Platters. Little by little I started finding more pieces. I've got about 15 plates now besides other pieces. I'd love to get the S&P and a gravy boat. Karen..I'm lucky DH likes to 'make' things. He likes to keep busy..even before he was retired he was always 'puttering'...from Rennovating our Old House...to Furniture, to Boats, to Toys and many Board Games. By the way...this wasn't his line of work.. he calls it therapy!! I agree with you, Mrsmarv needs to Share pics of her goodies with us...lol Mo...what I use to hold the platters and plates in place, is tacky stuff, almost like a playdoah. I put a tiny amount on the back of the platter,(and sometimes on the bottom of the plate) and press it in place. It's extremely strong and stays in place until I remove it. cindylouhoo...Sometimes it's hard to decide what to use when you have too much!! lol I did lots of bargain hunting when I was in my first home, out of necessity (lack of money). I do find that I'm more selective now with what I buy, because of having too much and not enough space. I do 'weed out' things every now and then..sometimes with regret!!
