business cards but just personal name & address

I would like to make some hand-out cards with just my name, address and phone # that have a nautical look to them. New to this sort of thing and need help.

You can get the blank cards at walmart, staples or any similar store. If you have any kind of graphics program you may already have a nautical theme. If not just google it and you'll find plenty. There very easy to do.

You might go to avery.com type in business card template. They have a bunch.

Dead for me too. I don't seem to have any involvement with any of the companies listed, unfortunately, my 84 yr old mother does. Now, if I can just somehow convince her that not all arriving into her 'in box' is legitimate mail, that it really is OK to delete things without opening :( Here's the CNN report from a few days ago - it doesn't sound wildly dangerous if people are just vigilant about spam and phishing attempts - and know not to click on those links. I have a few of the card holders similar to the link Lidia had and a coule of smaller versions but for the most part I put them into Ajour address book and I can search for a name or comment or even part of the phone number if needed. Plus it'll dial the number too. But I have to ask, is this a collection/hobby or is there a need for all these cards? If you have to keep the cards, some sort of Rolodex is probably most practical if you're going to keep adding to them. And alpha filing is most practical for most things but that'll be thrown off unless you have lots of pages. And then if you have to use multiple cards to file in multiple places, for instance, one law firm but multiple attorneys names, then you go quickly from a gazillion to about a gazillion and a half! Think about how you use them and that might help decide how to organize them or whether to even continue with the cards. And apparently Joyful's account got hacked and someone else is using it... The Joyful we know and love would never suggest spending money on something!!! :D

That reminds me of what my FIL did. He was very sick from cancer and knew he wasn't going to last too much longer. He sent a e-mail to my husband that was set up to be sent at a later date, after his death, by about 7 months. He asked that we keep in touch with his wife, stepmother. My husbands mother died when he was about 21 and he remarried 5 years later to this women, she had two grown children also. The stepmother was really hard to get along with. Her son put up with her, and was barely on speaking terms with her daughter. Treated my husband very poorly for years, but we tolerated her because Dad loved her. I think she always meant well somewhere deep down inside, but was still rude, arrogant, put downs, was hard to take, but we live 800 miles away so not too much contact...We kept in touch for a few years after dads e-mail but she was still worse than ever and she died 5 years later, the last year we hardly spoke at all....still feel guilty we didn't keep in contact so much. I really think she didn't understand what she did to people, she was a miserable soul, bless her.

Absolutely to both. They're a couple, they BOTH lost someone they cared about. I've lost 2 parents and 2 parents-in-law. All the expressions of sympathy we got came to both of us. And if you're ever not sure, think of it this way. You'd never be wrong addressing the card to both, BUT if you addressed it to just the one, the other could be very hurt.

I just recently made cards for my husband to take with him on a trip. Just delete what you don't need and print them out to say what you want. He was going to a Navy reunion so I printed some that had a water background and some that had a flag background. Just use card stock.

Vista Print occasionally runs an offer for 250 free business cards. You pay the shipping but I think the last time I got them there, it was about $5 for the S&H.

Vista is the way to go. They will give you 250 cards free (you pay shipping) as an introduction to their service. You could also go to Office Depot or any of the other Mega Office supply stores and buy a business card DIY kit which will have perforated cards (10 to a sheet I think) and a disk with simple point and click instructions. Be careful about what graphics you get from google. Many of them are copyrighted and you will never know until some one sues for copyright infringement. Another way to go though it Photobucket.com They advertise something like a billion graphics, clip art and photos online. Generally no copyright problems and if the owner has copyrighted something they are very willing to let you use it for a small consideration of telling people where you got it.
