I was gifted with a Rival Chocolate Fountain when I moved back to the city a few years ago. Hershey bars are milk chocolate so milk chocolate chips should work as well. The addition of oil is a must for the fountain to work. It kind of freaked me out when I read the instructions when I first used it....all that oil. If you are not comfortable using the micro just melt over a double boiler. Here are the ratios that my instrunction book have. 13 1/3 chips (80 oz.) and 2 1/2 cup oil (20 oz.) For Premium chocolate. ( premium chocolate contains 30% - 40% plus cocoa) 13 1/3 cup chips (80 oz.) and 1 2/3 cups oil (13 oz.). The above quanties are the max for my machine and says it will serve 25 - 30 guests. You could double this for your event and refill the fountain as needed unless it can handle the amount you need for your number of guest. You will have a lot leftover as you need a good amount to keep the fountain flowing. Also, dipping items that create crumbs or chunks that can break off will mess with the fountain. We had to clean out around the bottom of the augor(Sp) part more than once during one party due to crumbs from pound cake and rice krispy treats that we had available for dipping. The next party we had a slotted spoon available to scoop out the floaters that would sink to the bottom and mess with the machine. (had a couple of peeps in charge to keep an eye out for that challange) Hope this helps you out a little. Have a great time/party!! David

Hi, Thanks for your heads up. On the granite I selected there are some green spots that I don't want in a prominent space, particularly the 30" backslash behind the range. The fabricator is acting like if he can do this for me, it will be a big favor on his part. My KD said it happens all the time that someone wants or doesn't want a particular part of their granite on the island or used for the table. I appreciate your comments to make sure I'm there for the templating because then I can see exactly what they are doing. I find whoever is in charge of the job or that aspect of the remodel doesn't like me around watching. But the workers don't seem to mind me there and can be more helpful than the GC when answering questions. The GC even went as far as to tell me not to talk to the workers as it will only make the job take longer! So far my fabricator seems to have the same type of personality as my GC. But I'll make sure I'm there for the templating. Thanks again! Karen

Thanks for the advice. I will have a stainless steel sink and a stainless steel Grohe faucet. My counter does hang over into the family room by the pool table. We have bar stools there. It's just enough for two, but truthfully, we only use them when we play. I'll have to take more pictures, but the near end of my kitchen starts with a pantry and laundry room, then a door, and then a counter to the right and breakfast nook to the left. You can see it down the hall through where the fireplace is. Beyond that is what you see in the first picture. Man, I really need to do something with that garbage can. I told my DH that and he said, yeah, like people don't think we make garbage. So understanding. The templating went great. I could tell the guy was impressed with my questions, and he was eager to please. He was careful, and has done templates in many homes including his bossed beautiful home that I had seen the day before. He said he has templated homes on the beach in Naples to mobile homes. Each he does with care. I was impressed. Now if I can just convince the DH that we "need" a soap dispenser and Never MT. Again, any cheap recommendations to go with the Grohe faucet in stainless steel?
