I have two friends who wanted to give me a shower for my third child. I insisted very strongly to them that I did not need a shower, nor did I want one. Where I come from this is just not done! I thanked them profusely for wanting to, but I insisted on them not giving me a shower. Well, they surprised me with a shower, a lovely little dinner out with about 10 people, neighbors and friends who weren't around when we had the first two, since we had lived in a different state then. I was overwhelmed with emotion. So grateful that I had friends who wanted to do this for me, who wanted to celebrate my third child in this way. They went to a lot of trouble for me and I will never forget it. Let them throw you the shower. Amy

not new. this concept has been around for things like evite and FB invitations for many years now, but I think some people choose to hide that info. I like knowing in advance who is coming and roughly how big the event will be. when I'm planning an informal party I usually add, "...message me if you think I forgot anyone". It's a great way to avoid hurt feelings -- I can just add someone later, apologize profusely, and say that there must have been some glitch in my contacts list. (blaming technology is a great excuse, lol.)

Burp cloths seem like a great idea. Most of the quilts I make - even for babies - are bigger. 42 or 44 x 50 so they are more like a floor quilt, too. One of the I-spy quilts I made for a friend's granddaughter is on the floor in her room and they hunt for things all the time. She is 3 now and my friend said she drags it around everywhere with her and likes cuddling up with it. Flannel is always great! Good luck, Sue

Actually, a gift of cute cards, whether 'thank you' or blank, could be a very welcomed gift, especially if stamps were included. It would save the recipient time, effort, and money, which is no small thing at today's postage prices.. :^) Rusty
