pictures on tiles

I would like to put my grandsons pictures on ceramic tiles. How would I do this? There's a shop that does this but I'm

not sure how it is done. Any suggestions?

I have done this, first i sprayed the pic with a sealer then i watered down white glue. Used this to glue picture
on tile and after it was dry i used thined out glue and glued over the picture several times ( drying inbetween)
Did this two years ago and it's still looking good.

What type of sealer did you use? I thought there might be someway I could do this using a computer to scan and print on some type of product made to do this.

Thanks for your responses. Kennebunker, we're pretty sure now that originally the house was a very plain Acadian style house, circa 1850s. It had four rooms, two on either side of an open dogtrot. Later, the dogtrot was enclosed. At some point, all of the Victorian details were added, the bay windows, the gingerbread, etc. We think the kitchen was completely separate from the house originally and rooms were added to connect it to the main house. We know now that half of the room where we tore out the carpet and tile was porch, since half has green-painted porch boards! We did not have to rip up the tile at all, we took the plywood off of the underlying floor. I think now we'll paint it all to make it uniform. Anyone have any advice on painting a wooden floor? Does anyone have pictures of granite tile countertops?

When we remodeled our kitchen in 02, we did it "out of pocket" and couldn't afford granite slab. I knew nothing about granite tile but DH convinced me he could do it and I'd love it :) He butted the tiles together and used a dark, unsanded grout that matches the tile as closely as possible. Of course, if we could have afforded it, I would rather have had slab. In the remodel of 07, we knocked out a a wall and added a peninsula to the kitchen. The peninsula IS slab. Monica (who desparately needs to update her kitchen photos!) tiles: slab: This is how lucky we got that we found a slab 5 years later that matched our tile so good :) Also, look to the left fo the granite sample and you can see the grout lines of the granite tile. This was a macro shot. In real life, they're practically invisable.

What is it your trying to do? What is "another method"... I don't see a first. The 2" step down will be maybe 1 1/2" when you're done. Are you doing this floor? If I was doing this one and there was no reasonable way of increasing the height of the wood floor, then what I would do is to fashion a wood reducer to be flush with the tile and touch the floating engineered. This can be done. Get out a pencil and paper and draw some cross sections and the configuration will come to you. You might be able to accomplish such a reducer with an off the shelf piece and fill material. The reducer gets attached to the subfloor and the engineered slides under the lip you would create. I don't know if any of that will be of help to you.

Rust-oleum Lacquer is great for this. I have used it to seal printed pictures, just make sure to let the print set for a few minutes to dry good before spraying, and put several coats on (let dry between coats) oh and it is around 3.00 at Wally world 4-5$ at those other stores.

I use waterslide transfer paper.I also read today someone used golden matte gel medium for doing this a...

I have done them with both Waterslip Decals and Avery clear Decal paper....if using an inkjet printer though, you MUST spray a sealer on top of youe waterslip or your ink will run
