Removing SCRATCHES from Stainless Steel
Comments (9)I just posted on a another posting about Scratch B Gone. We just used it this week. Our cabinet installers scratched my hood when they installed the cabinets. They had an extra piece of the venting to practice using scratch b gone. It seems to have worked. It is very, very difficult to find the scratches now. I do think the stainless is a tiny bit more oxidized in color, not quite as shiny, but not anything anyone would notice, except for me. I think the adage of practice makes perfect probably made the difference. I had them show me where they used it on the practice piece before I let them use it on the actual hood....See MoreRemoving fine scratches from stainless steel?

Comments (8)If the refrigerator comes with a warranty, call KA and inquire about a replacement "skin" for the door. When our KA fridge (a built-in model) was installed, the installer pointed out what appeared to be a dent, or anomaly along the top edge of the freezer door (really only visible because of the way the light hit it). KA sent out a replacement SS skin (at no charge), but when the tech was there, he thought the ripple in the SS was actually the result of one of the screws along the top of the door, being tightened too much, resulting in that slight dip in the metal skin. After he loosened the screw, the dent/ripple disappeared, but he left the skin for us "just in case" we ever needed to replace it. Perhaps they would send a replacement out for you as a goodwill gesture, even if no warranty is in place to cover it. Always worth inquiring! :)...See MoreHow To Remove Paint From Stainless Steel
Comments (2)The appliance may have a coating over the SS. If it does, acetone will most likely remove that protective coating. If you use acetone, tape off the unaffected area with painter's tape. Use a q-tip to apply the acetone, keeping the paint wet until it softens enough to pull it or scrape (plastic scraper) away....See Morecreek_side
