Comments (15)Everyone, thanks for the encouraging words. Gigi, you are in luck. I am in Palo Alto. My stone fabricator is in Redwood City. I am out of town this next week but when I get back I will figure out what we are using to create the side tables. Assuming he hasn't already tossed the tv cutout, we will use that and then the entire rest of the slab is yours. If he has tossed the tv cutout already, I may still need a piece of it, but I will get back to you about the rest. It has a crack all the way from top to bottom (why it was so cheap) but its close to the edge where we cut it so depending on how much you need, it may not be a problem. As for the dog, she is very cute and dear to us, but you probably don't want her because she is quite the lemon from a health perspective. Fortunately for her, she hit the doggie lotto when I adopted her from a rescue. Another pic of her snoozing (wearing DH's sunglasses) with her head on my pillow!...See Moretv lifts
Comments (12)Sochi- The space will be a pool/poker adult play room so I was thinking that the far end with the window would be perfect because it wouldn't hinder other activities but I don't want the window blocked. I am visualizing the 2 gaming tables in the front 1/2 of the room and than a small seating area near the back with the tv. Would a tv lift cabinet allow the television to be raised enough to see above a couch? If so, I think the tv lift cabinet would be a good investment and fit our needs. Sis3- thanks for the link and the picture- it looks great in your beautiful room and I love the idea that you can simply put the lift in a piece of furniture you already have. By any chance, do you happen to have a picture of the cabinet with the tv lifted?...See MoreWall Mounted Flat screen TV Disguises
Comments (8)They used two pair of heavy duty sliding drawer glides (black). The right side is one panel, left two panels, when open. You can see the glides in the "open" photo, but what you cannot tell from that photo is that the glides are mounted on wood strips.. not just into the wall. More sturdy that way, as the panels are fairly heavy. As you can also see in the "open" photo, the edges (top, bottom and sides) all wrap so that it looks like a finished "box" (and you cannot see behind panels). Hope that makes sense....See MoreMount TV to Round Corner Column
Comments (21)The problem with ceiling mount is that - again - your ceiling is probably not supported by wood joists. It's probably steel or concrete. TV mounts need to be drilled into structural supports, not drywall. If you're drilling into your own home's supports, that's fine because its yours. In this case, you'll be drilling into structural beams. If it's steel - well, good luck doing that. If it's concrete, you might damage the beam/expose rebar. Not a good idea. Get a TV cabinet or as PCC suggested, teach your kids to avoid the TV. I imagine if you tell them that they won't get to watch TV ever again if they break it, they may pay attention. Lots of people have little kids that don't break TVs so I'm sure you can find a way. We have a 3 year old and an 85" TV that's incredibly fragile and we've managed....See Moreniteshadepromises
