I'm not clear which room you are referring to in the slideshow. But I agree that crown on a slope looks out of place. And that's probably why the original builder left it off. It's clearly not budgetary, as there is extensive architectural detailing everywhere else. Last year, I left it off a MB with a cathdral ceiling, even though the halls on both floors had crown moulding and I normally do crown moulding in the master suite. Creative Crown WOW! I just received that I had a comment from Houzz. It is incredible the fire storm that this page has started. I just want everyone to know that we have no ill feeling against anyone. Everyone is entitled to their say. Just tell the truth. Have you purchased our product before? So should you comment? I just want to say that we due care about everyone if you have bought from us or not. I know some of the people that have made a comment on this blog. They have purchased from us before and I thank you for their support. This all started with a bash from a customer. They were having some problems installing our moldings. They did not make any attempt to contact us for help. They could have called our toll free number or emailed us and we would have more than happy to have helped them. We would have spent as much time as they needed to assisted them. We have about 30 youtube videos about our product on anything you could ask about. I always take the time to call a company and try to get help if I have a problem with a product. We are a family own business and everyone's business is appreciated. We have the only "molded foam crown molding in America" It is a good product that is easy to install and is a high quality. It is Patent Pending. We did not mean to insult anyone with our earlier post. I hope this puts an end to all of the bickering and we use Houzz for what it was designed for. There are any number of threads on this topic, if not exactly in this forum, then in Remodeling, Home Decorating, or Woodworking. The simple answer is that a turn can be in one plane or another but not two planes at the same time. Both turning the corner _and_ turning up the slope of the ceiling in one cut is attempting the impossible; it must be treated as two turns. You turn the 90 degree corner, then with a short horizontal run (the piece will look like a wedge) miter uphill for the rake run. Leveling off for the flat ceiling is just one plane change, so that is a simple miter (measure the actual angle, calculate its complimentary angle and divide it by two for the miter setting). Casey

bobsmyuncle Your a Dear Man but .. I have to disagree with your assesment of easy and hard. I went through the upside down and backwards stuff and .. I did it all on a manual miter box. Today, right after I bought the compound miter saw .. I cut .. Oh, let me think, Oh yes, I cut Twelve inside and outside crown moldings that will fit perfectly in two other rooms that I want to do. THAT .. Even though I now know how to do those easy cuts would have taken me .. at least 8 to 9 hours to do .. I did them on the Dewalt in less than 30 minutes. Oh yes .. I did the cuts without all of that .. Upside Down and Backwards .. Bog The Mind, Into Insanity stuff.
