Crown molding on an angled ceiling?

We have an opened floor plan where the 2nd floor overlooks the family room. Our entire 2nd floor has crown molding but it ends before it enters any part of the family room ceiling.

The outer part of the family room ceiling (about 1/3) is flat and then slopes from 20ft in height to about 12 feet to the end of the room. The slop is about 12 feet long. I want to run crown molding over the ceiling. Is it really a design faux pas to have crown molding on a slop? I think it will look good and will give the room a more finished look. Besides the difficulty in making the proper cuts, is there another down side to doing this?

Here is a link with pictures of a similar house that had it done.
