Swivel Sweeper,AKA, Glide Sweeper

FYI,found that Walmart is carrying the Quick Shine Glide Cordless Sweeper for $26.99. It is a Swivel Sweeper in a different box. It was located in the section with the brooms and mops,etc.

Cool. I want one of these, but the s/h is ridiculous over the TV! Let us know how you like it. The only thing I'm worried about is the rechargable battery. I had a Swiffer Vac & the battery on it only lasted about 6 good months. After it started to go it really went. Now as soon as you turn it on it already sounds like it's dying & doesn't pick up anything.

Hi, I have had a swivel sweeper and I liked it very well. It gets up hair and dust so I can prepare my tiles for using my Shark Steam Mop (which I love). It also gets in small places especially behind the toilets. Only problem I had with it was the battery went out way too soon. For the cost, it should have lasted a lot longer. But maybe I wasn't charging it like I should have, I just don't know. I missed it so much that I finally broke down and bought another swivel sweeper. I could have purchased another battery from their company, but the cost of that + s&h cost more than going to Linens & Things and purchasing another swivel sweeper. I also had a 20% coupon so it cost me less than the first one. I just got it so I haven't used it yet. I will read the directions very well to see how to recharge the battery and how often. If it goes out on me again, then I will assume they just don't make a good battery for this sweeper. Other than that I really like it for the convenience and quickness of the sweeper. Two of my very favorite products As Seen On TV are Mighty Putty and the removable wall hooks from 3M. We've puttied up splintered wood and drilled holes in it to hang baskets, we've puttied up holes in the garden hose, repaired window sash closures, the stuff is great. The removable wall hooks were terrific for hanging indoor Christmas lights around the house. When Christmas was over I just pulled the hooks off - no damage to the walls. My Shark steam mop seems to not want to glide very well over my flooring and it makes the handle bend somewhat when making go across the floor. Of course you probably have much newer flooring than mine.. I have s similar swiffer sweeper, I think it is made by someone else, but it uses the swiffer pads. I like it. Sue

I have a Swivel Sweeper from Walgreens and got a spare battery off ebay. I've not had it long enough to judge the battery life.

These small devices use Nickel Cadmium batteries,which need to be treated differently than your standard Nickel Metal Hydride battery. See the paragraph:Shortcomings,from the article below.

To summarize the correct way to treat these batteries:

1. Completely discharge the battery before recharging.

2. Do not overcharge;That is,don't leave the battery in the charger for longer than approximately eight hours.

I also have the origianl Swival Sweeper and love it. We got it at Bed Bath and Beyond. If the battery dies I will take the unit back to them as they do stand behind all their products. We had had it a few months and truly it is great.

I first saw the Swivel Sweeper at a local restaurant,where they were using it to clean during the day (while customers where still there.) I asked the manager what it was and he told me about it. He said they usually get about eight months out of one before it dies (not sure if that is the battery or the sweeper that fails.) Then,they buy another.
Given the daily hard use of the SW by a commercial operation,I'd say that was pretty good for a $30 dollar sweeper.

I love my SW too ;)
