B.B.Q. Table

This is my first time posting I do hope that the picture

come out. First I must say I LOVE viewing your tables, that's how I got started, keep up the great work. The plates, S/P set are from Christmas Tree. The big ant I got at a TS. The mini grills are a Christmas ornament that a store was having a "Christmas in July".I made a few changes to them, and I didn't add anyones name.

This is such a fun table.
A perfect table for a BBQ on a hot summer day.
I love that you used the milk bottles as glasses.
The little grills and salt and pepper shakers are soo cute.
This forum is a warm and welcoming place to come to. It is a little slow here in the summer,
but I do hope you will come back soon and share your tables with us. We all love looking at tablescapes.

This table is perfect in every detail, from the gingham napkins to the little grills and I'm loving that big ant. I'd have snatched him up too!!
The canning jars are a whimsical choice for glassware. Makes me want a big glass of ice cold lemonade!!

I can almost smell the burgers grilling!

Planted one B&B Q. alba in my yard 3 years ago in the middle of summer and it's about 10' taller at this point. It really hit the ground running. Planted another of similar size in my yard that same fall, which went through some stress the past two summers but appears to be taking off now as well this spring. I'm no expert, but if there's one thing that's held true for all my plantings, from perennials to trees, it's that you have to wait until that second or third year in the ground for things to really get established. I can't tell you how many failed planting I thought I had, only to see them come up vigorously the following year. That said, a vote for the Q. alba. Good things take time, but by no means is this tree as slow growing as it's often made out to be.

Nancy.....Glad to hear you finally got another one growing from your stubborn cross. Many of the seeds I have from dormant parents are taking their good old time. I have some that have been in damp paper towels in baggies since the first of the year, and still nothing. If they don't sprout before May, I'm just going to direct sow them in the garden and see what happens. Berrytea, Sorry you are still at war with the fungus gnats. Someone on the forum here once mentioned watering with mosquito dunk to get rid of them. Might be worth giving that a try if you continue to have problems with the gnats. So far I've been lucky and not had to deal with gnats. I've reached my goal of 1000 seedlings, and still have a lot of seed that will have to be sown outside when the weather permits. My biggest problem has been meeting the nutrient needs of growing so many seedlings in a single container. I have read that some people grow as many as 20-30 in small containers, but they must have some trick to keeping the nutritional demands met. Some of my cups have as many as 8 seedlings in them. To keep them all healthy I have had to water with dilute fertilizer every 3 days. Most are wider than a pencil at this point and are over a foot high. They would be a lot taller if I hadn't cut them back by a third a couple weeks ago. I may have to top them again in order to keep them from overshadowing smaller seedlings.

Lpink came to visit! We had a wonderful day chatting, visiting the local farmers market, and even doing a little canning. I am such a novice it was supre to have her hear to guide me through the intricacies of Apricot CHutney. We also made some awesome pickled asparagus... all the evidence is on the thread called "We Be Jammin"..... It is thunderstormy right now, so no "Dive in Movie" at the local pool tonight. Tomorrow will be our annual Fantasy Football picnic to discuss rule changes that are upcoming and Sunday is going to be a day in the garden again. I really need to get the mulch down in the full sun beds........ Have fun on the Poker Run, Lindaluu! Annie - safe travels to you and Elery - hope you have a wonderful time. Trixie - hope your neighbor is feeling better soon. That is so awesome that everyone pitched in to help. SHelly - hope there are some kicking tomatoes! You have so many perfect accessories for this table.
Love the checked plates & napkins. Also the S&Ps and especially the little grills.
NIce idea using the canning jars..but I think that 'picnic ant' steals the show !!
What an perfectly adorable CP ...if I were sitting there, I'd enjoy him knowing he's not real! lol

Welcome, Bingham! Your BBQ table is very cute! Of course, like the others, I think your big ANT steals the show! Like that! The 'grill' placecards idea is HOT! Very cute! Bingham, first of all, sorry I'm so slow posting but so happy to have you here with us!!! Your BBQ tablescape is adorable. The plates are so cute. Love the little BBQ grill ornaments you used. I pick up Christmas ornaments on clearance and use them on alot of my tables.

The ant tray was a wonderful find for this table. Gingham napkins are perfect for a BBQ table and sweet little S & P shakers. Milk bottles and straws are sweet too.

Bing, I'm so sorry to be late with welcoming you to our Gang. Glad you found us. (did you also find our Inspiration albums on Photobucket? They cover all the holidays AND tablesettings. If you didn't, then I'll put the links in another post for you. I'll be updating some of our albums with new photos real soon too, so need to remind everyone to check them out since the big decorating seasons are almost here. YAY. I can hardly wait to get out the Fall stuff.

Like Marlene said, that big ant is a hoot. Cracked me up.
