HELP!! Shark Steam Mop problem
Comments (9)Geez, I have a bad habit of not reading through the entire post before responding. I'm sorry, I see now that you'd already been using a steamer. It's entirely possible that it's the cloths. Perhaps you should try washing them before using them. I know that same thing has happened to me several times with my steamer and at the time I had never used any cleaner on my new tile. I try to wash the cloths by themselves, but there's been a few times other things have accidently been in the wash. I think it makes a difference with the way the microfiber absorbs. I have also recently tried using vinegar/water to mop (I wasn't absolutely sure my canister steamer was cleaner like it should) and it left terrible streaks. I guess I was using too much vinegar? I went and got a Quikie mop (I thought it was a microfiber mop, but it had a cotton cover instead) and you wouldn't believe the dirt that came up! I am a little upset since I thought my steamer was doing such a good job! :(...See MoreWhich is Better Bissel Steam Mop or the Shark Steam Mop
Comments (2)They are both good, but you may like the bissel better. I have the shark mop, had the first one they made and I loved it..they made a new and 'improved' one, and even though it is a good mop, powerful, and lots of steam, you have to push the mop forward for the steam to be released. They designed it this way as a saftey precaution. It's a personal choice in how the mops function, both are good mops. I personally like continuous steam.. probably because that is what I have been use to for a few years...that is my disappointment with shark. Either way, steam is a great, easy, fast way to clean, does a great job. Ree...See MoreNeed help with my new Bissell steam mop
Comments (3)If you have puddles of water, something is wrong. You shouldn't have any water on the floor from a steam cleaner. The steam vapor should either be in the mop pad or dry quickly in the air. It sounds like either you are pressing the button too often or the water isn't being heated sufficiently or the mop pad needs to be changed out....See MoreSteam Mop - any 2014 feedback on brands?
Comments (3)I bought the Sargent Steam about six months ago. It's quite expensive, but I'm a bit nutty about my toys. Also, I wanted the iron that can be attached to the steamer. The steamer makes super hot, rather dry vapor. I'm very pleased with the performance of the steamer itself, and it does have a floor attachment that is pretty easy to use, but I find that most of the brushes and pads that attach to the steam nozzle are awkward to use in many spots, such as the oven, and use a two hand approach, with the steamer in one hand and a cloth or scrubber in the other. The grease and dirt wipe of after being hit with a shot of steam, although burned on grease in the oven took more than a wipe. I'm afraid to use it on my laminate and hardwood floors, but it's superb on the tile in the bathroom, both showers and floors....See Moreloralee_2007
