liquid soap and glass doors

Hi all! I've been reading quite a bit about switching to liquid soap if you have a glass shower door. I can't find Dial Clean Rinse...is it named something else now? Will any body wash be ok? And, um, this is for the girls...can you use body washes on your, um, delicates "down there?" I have used body washes, but always switched back to the bar suds for, um, down there....

I use Neutregena Liquid for down there (for about 50 years and no problem). I do get the unscented. Neutregena is ph balanced.

Recently started using Neutregena Bath Gel for body and down there. So far no problem. Oh, maybe I do have a problem, a spot of yeast developed after I started using the Neutregena Bath Gel. Hmmm....will have to rethink that.

Do not go back to bar soap for any part of the body, it will mess up the shower walls and glass.

Using liquid bath has reduced my labor of cleaning the shower tremendously.

Will any brand work (to keep the shower clean) as long as it's liquid? I've tried a few at hotels and so far found them to be very harsh and drying. Is there a brand that is less drying to the skin? I use oatmeal soap and have hesitated to switch knowing it will take many bottles before I find one I like.

I too had this problem with an expensive Kenmore Elite but I decided not to let it bother me. I fill one powder dispenser and leave it open and make sure I have the Jet Dry department always filled. I never observed a lack of top notch cleaning after that, but I did give it to Habitat for Humanity when I got the top of the line Thermador (made by Bosch). The Thermadors and Bosch's are far better than the Miele's at their price points and they are at least as quiet as the best Miele's, which cost $1K more. Greg

Finally! Last night I smeared a combination of hot vinegar (microwaved 2 minutes and an equal amount of blue Dawn. I had used it last year (guest bath only used once a year). I followed the directions, just let it sit and the bottom of the tub looked great. It did not budge the insane soap scum on the side of the tub. The tub was only used during Christmas vacation by our adult daughter who never cleaned. I was in panic mode tonight and saw someone above mention Awesome Cleaner from the Dollar Tree. I put a little water in the tub to wet the vinegar/dawn mixture from last night, swished my scrubber pad in it to wet it. Poured Awesome powder on it and thanked God because it worked! I could not believe it worked and was in panic mode because my daughter is bringing her boyfriend in town with her! Now if I could just get the rest of the house presentable!

I do have a shelf above the dryer that holds a couple bottles of detergant and softener. But to me, it seems like some kind of long, wall mounted clear or white plastic bottle would be much easier to handle. Something like this but cheaper. I don't use pump lotion. My favorite lotion doesn't come in a pump. However my soap dispenser is always white in both the bathroom and kitchen. If I were to keep both I would make some of those beaded glass identifiers that they use for wine glasses, with a big bead in the center that I could write either an L for lotion or a s for soap. They have gold or silver pens that would work for that, just make sure the bead is not too glossy or it won't take the ink. They could even match the rooms decor. Anyway that's my idea. Neutregena and Dove have liquid bath that is not drying. Oil of Olay is also good and non-drying.

Wal-Mart Equate brand is good. I use Dove, Neutregena or Oil of Olay in cold weather and Equate in the summer.

Dove has liquid soap with grains in it that you might like. My D-I-L had some and I used it by mistake and was surprised it had grains in it. I have not tried it since. Not sure what it was called. I use the regular Dove.

I use the nylon net bath scrubbies, works great for most of the body. The liquid really foams up. Works on a washcloth also but does not foam as much.

In case you are interested, the Equate hand liquid works well and does not leave hands slick feeling like some of the other brands. I hate trying to rinse the slick feeling off.
