Wow, I did it again, posted as I thought, but nothing here. Labrea, thank you! A perfect picture of a perfect rose. Could you please tell me what it is, Ta! Medocino - How beautiful, thank you - such a full mauve coloured rose. The closest I can get to would be Yves Piaget - but can not be sure? ..........and Beth, finally! Thank you so very much for your beautiful roses including Mavrik here. I see so many of yours in HMF too. It is wonderful that you are sharing so much of your vast collection. I certainly appreciate it and I am sure you have been so helpful to many rose collectors in their searches. No........... I am living amongst a bunch of people that do not understand my plant obsession, even my mother who's mother was a garden extrodinaire (the woman could grow anything) doesn't understand, but she did get me a digital camera (WHOO WHOO) for my birthday:):) I have already gone out and taken pics of my pine tree and what the ice did to it (and the branch that now has no pine needles on it because of a careless you know what!) I got a new wedding set from hubby, the originals were stolen off my microwave and the guy that did my set, he set his own, all were totally original, he went out of buisness:(( I have a set that I went out and got from Wal-Mart just so I would have something on my finger, but we finally picked out one that is similar to my first set, and I don't care where I work, this time it is staying on my finger! I worked at a turkey farm working the birds and was afraid of losing it out there so I didn't wear it to work, hubby had a employee in the house and was writing up a estimate, next time I went to put it on it was gone, he was the only other person then us in the house so I assumed..... I have been looking at all the hosta sites here lately, missed out on the Hill Gardens sale:( then I went over to Jims Hostas and although he has some wonderful Hostas all I could do was dream, some heavy duty price tags there! I know there is a hosta nursery somewhere around here, someone mentioned it one time, but I can't find it, want to go visit it this year, if you can believe it I have never been to a nursery where they specialize in just hosta:( that is my goal this spring, and by golly I may make it! michelle

Jim, your perspective on things is always so great. LOL. I need to learn to look at Life thru your eyes more. Betty, I am on here every single night at 2am. sigh. Thanks for all the wonderful b.d. wishes, Everyone. I had a GREAT day. Postman brought 3 wonderful surprises from friends around the country, and my kids and grandkids showed up at various times this evening. Cards, gifts, and even purple flowers LOL. And a coconut cake! I get to go to Michaels, Marshalls, and my favorite antique mall shopping thanks to my kids and my dad. Yayyyy. hugs, Karen

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! I had a good birthday and the Drs finally said the H word. If his gall bladder passes the cat scan Friday and he has a good weekend we may be able to go home sometime next week!!!!!!! He will have to have home health nurses come at least 3 days a week and physical therapists coming in working with him to get his strength back, but HOME!! What a wonderful word.
I can never thank all of you enough for your prayers and messages of encouragement every time I could get a chance to check in. Can't wait to get home and post some pics of something or anything!!! His birthday is Thursday, maybe I can take a picture and post it when I get home. He has lost so much weight he reminds me of those news pictures of all of the war refugees who had to flee their homes and looked like thay were starving. And he is as weak as a newborn kitten. But he is alive and I thank God for that.

Betty, an easy way to fatten hubby up is to have him touch the pictures of the food that Kathleen posts...trust me..I've gained 10 lbs just looking at them!

I would be happy to help fatten up Alfred though! Went through that once with my own dh many yrs ago after a long hosp stay!

So thankful to hear your news Betty! Guess that is a bit of a birthday present to you! There is "no place like HOME" and I'm sure you and Alfred are anxious to be back there. I pray that just being in familiar surroundings will help Alfred get his strength back. Be sure to take one day at a time and pamper yourself a bit too - you deserve it after all you have been through!
