A silly 1 inch longer. Should I avoid 31 inch induction cooktops

The induction cooktops I'd like prefer from Miele has a cutout width of 30 11/16. This would sure make it hard to go back to gas (most cooktops are 30 inches wide--even Miele's although there is a thermador of 31 inches in width)...and maybe even limit my choice of induction cooktops in the the future when the one I'm about to buy breaks or I advance to the next big advance in cooktops.

It my experience that my appliances don't last as long as the countertop and cabinets, and I am hesitant to limit my options for appliances later.

Am I over thinking this?
