Yes, the Holiday Forum is very quiet ...I'm not much help either ... when the weather permits, I am outdoors ...such a weird Spring & Summer about here, too...someone tell Mother Nature that we have 'nuf rain' already! ;-)

Here's my Baker's Rack done up on the patio corner ... flowers are bloomin' in the gardens...lush ^& green w/all these cool, rainy days!

Thanks for sharing your Spring Bakers rack it is terrific.
I love the pansies Spring has sprung here too so has allergy season lol. . We've had much needed rain the last 3 days. We are several inches of rainfall below normal. Amazing when you consider the terrible weather some parts of the country are enduring.

I agree w/Nana, love the pansies too. I know I've said this before, but I enjoy seeing your seasonal changes ...and this one for Spring is especially nice.
Our weather has been crummy with on and off sun and rain..with rain mostly on the weekends...
seems the weeds enjoy the combo tho!

I have to thank you for 'Holding down the Fort' while it's been quite here...you keep Holiday going. I know I've been in limbo with doing anything with our house still on the market. Seems the economy has most people not wanting to make any changes with so much uncertainty.
Well...I do enjoy coming here to see what you're sharing with us...again - Thanks Nana...and you too Jeanne for sharing your pretty Bakers Rack!

Punk, no chairs on the little patio but those two wood ones that have decor on them. I rarely SIT outside, I'm always playing ball with the dogs or watering plants or just wandering around. My back prefers I not sit and I do enough of that on here at night. LOL. Nana, the little side windows have screens, so they can be opened. Which I don't do from May till end of Oct. Prefer not to let in 100 plus degrees. The big window doesn't open, nor has a screen. Jeanne, LOL, no my window isn't THAT clean. I just have a GREAT camera that doesn't pick up dust and or cat nose prints. Thanks for all the kind words. Sometimes I feel like my little patio is REALLY "junked up" with so much stuff on it. The fairy garden is at the other end, plus a fountain, and then chimes along the whole length of it. Etc etc etc. That beautiful gilded birdcage was from Marlene by the way, it was in my Summer Junk Jamboree gift box. Between our Xmas gift exchanges, and now this summer one, and the Junk Train rolling in, I've got some super stuff to give me loads of memories from so many of you. And I have some special friends like BigDeck's "sneaky, conniving, NOT" that have treated me to some day brighteners when most needed. I am so blessed by the folks here because the most important gift of all has been FRIENDSHIP. hugs, Karen

This is what I had in mind for use on my patio/breezeway area for the Spring/Summer months. I found an old Baker's rack at Habitat resale store for only $25, which was a steal but we didn't have the truck with us, nor do we have storage for it until we can use it, so I didn't buy it. I know I'm probably going to kick myself over and over for not buying it. Come Summertime, I'm hiring a handyman to make me some more storage cabinets for my seed sowing supplies, my husband's power tools, and some other things. Hopefully I will have more room to store stuff then. I also wanted to use it like you did but also be able to add some small potted plants in the Spring/Summer months.

Thanks for commenting... lynnenc, ladypat, candy, kathleen, janet, jane, magpie, purplemoon... I agree, there is such beauty in "pines" ...& it is always fun to decorate with them. Outside on this patio they stay green for a long, long time. And the "old stuff" just seems to blend in so well with the natural elements. My bakers rack has weathered well outdoors for quite a few yrs & it's kind of in a protected corner area from wind..which we get alot of here. So, go for it, if you find a baker's rack $$$ BARGAIN! Thanks for the kind "pics" comments...I use MS Digital Image Suite & often "soften" the edges (it's kind of like "framing" the pic) so that my eyes are drawn more to what I really want to see. Nancedar - if you get your countertop marble or granite honed, it won't be shiny. French, Italian, Greek and other european kitchens have been using honed marble countertops for centuries. As to etching, that's an american aesthetic bias. Again, if you go to a french kitchen with marble countertops, the marble is etched, stained by wine, etc. and they don't mind. I mean, the marble IS in a kitchen after all, and used for food prep, so it will show signs of use. Similarly, a wood counter in a traditional french kitchen will scratched and gouged, not babied. But I understand if we are thinking of home resale, and what we prefer, we may not want any etching or patina. As to flour containers, I am surprised no one has brought up the issue of insects getting into flour containers that aren't air tight. The OP's first link, and the pioneer woman link, both seem to me to be flour containers that are invitations for insects. I like a glass container with a tight screw top, but often the mouth is not wide enough for scoop-and-sweep of flour. I also have an assortment of the big Oxo Pop air-tight containers, the Click-clack cubes, and LocknLock containers. They are all BPA free too. A friend of mine doesn't like the chore of transferring flour or sugar from the original bag to another container. If anyone reading this thread is like that, there's the air-tight Flour container or sugar container.

Love all the items you arranged on your bakers rack Jeanne. Those pansies looks so festive. Wanted to tell you that the hollyhocks you sent me are blooming. Have some white ones this year. Had to move the pink ones from beside the shed due to some repairs. This fall I plan to plant more seed in the corner of the yard--will give more support since they grow so tall! Nana, you are so great about keeping this board going. I've been a real dud too--mostly working outside or cleaning, clearing out, and organizing. Luvs

Some people love 'old windows' in their decor ... this is an old window painted by a friend for my b'day a few yrs back for my gardens ... here it is in the fence line w/blooming double Columbine this week. Everything is so lush & green right now w/all the rains! :-) Jeanne S.
