Monday finds Patriotic table preview

I tried to do this table outside but all of a sudden the winds started whipping up.

The fabric is a dollar a yard from Walmart, the white chargers are the ones I just bought from Home Dec outlet, the star plates I got at the end of the season at Pfaltzgraff, they have them now but they are about 6 each, I know I paid a dollar something. The star napkins, TJ Maxx and the centerpiece is from ACMoore, got it with the 40 off coupon last year. Figured I couldn't make it for what I paid.

So I will post more pics when I finish the table.

Wow, that is gorgeous. I'm off to Walmart for that fabric. Thanks for sharing.

You are welcome. I understand my Walmart is one of the few still carrying fabric they will cut.. There are no other fabric stores nearby...so I hope they keep it.

Mary, those are very pretty pink dishes and I luv the sage from Kohls, very pretty! Luvs, if I thought you'd want to try to ship it, they actually had two of those pitchers! I just always think things like that usually end up broken, or I'd have bought you the other one! Yes, the gas for the boat is expensive, it won't be leaving the dock til gas goes down, meantime, it's our summer home on the water! I still enjoy just getting away & sitting on the back deck & relaxing! Karen, yes 3 four year olds, but the twin girls are very well behaved, like little angels. The other one, the boy, is a character & always up to something. I'll post a pic of him from his pre-school graduation, I laughed so hard at the pics I almost wet my pants. He will be a handful in regular school!!!All the other kids were behaving just fine & take a look at him at the graduation!!!!!

Hi Tally. I LOVE Duffy! As for the stacked plates, which is how I discovered this forum to begin with, they do come from Target Online. I can honestly say, I've never had so much fun decorating anything before. I got mine last Dec, so they've gotten decorated for each Holiday since and also had a Spring theme last week. I am just nuts about these fool things and have to blame it all on Judith who first posted them and got me so involved. I have four cats, including Oreo aka Speedbump. She gets on the table to jump into the bay window. And my Brat Cat, TY, likes to lay on the table and sometimes swipe a decoration off the plates. I glued mine together with GE Silicone II. The topper by the way, is a heavy crystal sundae cup from Walmart. I had the Target link for the plates in a post a few months ago, will see if I can find it again for you. Karen

I'm so sorry to hear about all of the sink drama! I even did a little googling last night to see what I could find - there's a complete dearth of info out there regarding Shaw sinks and disposals! On the other hand - your space is coming along fantastically! I love it! The counters, the little barn light over the door, the fri*dge cab... I could go on and on. Woo!

I understand where Steph is coming from. However, I think a lot of people do not really understand that we are in a very bizarre topsy turvy situation, where up is down and black is white. Perhaps that's because the last time this happened was in the 1930s, and many of the Greatest Generation who remember it clearly have dropped out of the picture. It's called the paradox of thrift. Thrift may be good for a single household, but when everyone does it at once, it's a disaster for everybody--including the thrifty households. Right now, lots of people can't spend money because they have too many debts to pay off. It isn't necessarily because they were reckless or overspent. The really crazy bad mortgage loans--no income, no down payment, etc.--went into default years ago and most of those people are long out of their loans. It's simply about the credit bubble and housing bubble. So you have this massive demand shock--when people who otherwise could be spending, can't. That means people who still can spend more, should spend more. Trouble is, a lot of them aren't doing it. Businesses are sitting on record-breaking piles of cash. They are making some capital investments but they're not hiring until their own sales pick up (yes, this is a vicious circle--if all these cash-flush businesses went on a hiring spree, their business would automatically pick up as newly employed people went shopping. But businesses don't want to be the ones to go first.) Government at every level is laying off employees like crazy (it amazes me that people don't know this) at the worst possible time. The very rich are in heavy capital preservation mode. So a lot of people who could spend, refuse to. If you do have it, and you do spend it, then yes, you are helping. This isn't always the case, but it is during conditions like the ones we have now.

I love it all. And those star plates are just perfect, nice find on those. Your photo sure brightened my day as it just plain ol' made me happy to look at it.

Your table is looking nice. Love your centerpiece and the little star shaped plates. You will get so much use out of those white chargers--they will go with so many things. Good buy. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, I was at one of our Walmart's last week and the fabric is all gone. They completely rearranged the store--made me feel "lost" since I didn't know where anything was anymore! They do still have some silk flowers, beads, paints, etc., but didn't find fabric anywhere. Hope they don't change the one in the other direction too.

I just love your table. Everything is just perfect. Those star plates really set it all off. And I love your napkins also. I love it ALL!

Our Walmarts don't have fabric anymore either and they have rearranged them and I can't find anything.

Thank you, "invisible friends" LOL. I will keep working on it. Glad I brightened your day, Karen. Everything was blowing off the table so I just snapped a quick one. When I finish I will take another pic. Maybe I can get Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty to come for lunch!

Okay, I'm a day late but I did find these on Monday. LOL Hadn't been out of the house for a few days since I've been keeping a close eye on my puppy who had surgery. Trying to keep her from overdoing it has been hard--she is just a little bundle of energy!
Anyway I hit my local TS for a shopping fix and found some neat things. Remember how I wanted a dimensional lighthouse? Well, look what I found for $3, and the piece of coral was $2.99--lots more expensive at the craft or pet store. And Jaybird was telling us how she finds the cheese server covers--I found one too! And I could not leave those bunnies there, got them for 49 and 69 cents. Also a pattern and a book, and a green plate with dragonflys along the rim. Take a look. Luvs

Kathleen, I love all of your table decorations! I hope to find some of that fabric at my Walmart store and I love-love-love those star plates! I'm with Jaybird...I want some too!! :)

Luvs, those are great finds! That coral is the rage, painted red. I saw a little bitty one in Pottery Barn for $$$ Good shopping! No Christmas stuff? skipping right to Easter?Love the lighthouse too!

Kathleen, I would have bought Christmas if there had been any. The bunnies were there, so figured I can always use another bunny.
I was pleased about the coral, I had looked at Petsmart and it ranged from $9.99 for small up to the $40 range for larger pieces.
The lighthouse is actually a birdhouse, which I sort of collect too, but it won't match my blue placemats and plates for a tablescape though and I don't want to repaint it since I love the crackle finish on it. Might see what I could do with my green plates.
I love going "hunting", just never know what I might find.

Kathleen, your table is so pretty, love everything on it.

Luvs you did good at the TS. I didn't have anything to show as I didn't get anything for tables at sales last week and didn't get to go on Saturday to a good subdivision sale.

I usually don't have much time in the summer to do tablescapes so I'll probably be showing you all spring & summer ones in the winter! LOL I'll have to try out all the goodies I've gotten all summer.

We usually decorate our boat for the 4th, they have a big parade on the water of all the decorated boats, but not sure this year, our shih tzu Molly is HUGE, she looks like she could give birth any minute, although she isn't due til the 7th of July, but I'm watching her closely.

I lost all my pics of decorated boats from other 4ths. when my puter crashed so can't show even last years.

I do try to keep up with all your pretties & enjoy seeing what all of you are up to, even though I can't join in right now. Keep the pictures coming!

Luvs, Once again you found some great bargains. I love your birdhouse lighthouse. I'm sure you'll find a pretty setting to use it in. Your bunnies are cute and congrats on finding the cheese server dome.

WOW, Luvs, ya done good ! That lighthouse is wonderful.
I love the way it's done in the crackle and sort of primitive look. I'd have bought it myself in a heartbeat.
The plate is a Bordallo one like my bunny plates, they do the dragonflies and other stuff. Lucky you finding it in a TS. I've been wanting to hit my Goodwill since it's been quite awhile, but dang back won't let me do a thing it seems. I should just GO, pain can't get any worse. LOL.
Seven x-rays yesterday, appt with doc on the 11th for result.

Yachter, no problem, just enjoy your summer while you can. And please do keep coming by even if you're not doing a table. You have probably noticed that most of us are not getting many done either! ;o) You know we're gonna want a pic of Molly's babies. Oh, I do love puppies. Just know they will be darling. Hope she has an easy time of it, and all do well.

Glad you all enjoyed my finds. I should have gone clothes shopping for our upcoming vacation trip--but looking for decorating goodies is so much more fun! LOL

Karen, I know you'd love to be out shopping, but you need to take it easy so as not to cause yourself more pain. Sure hope the xrays help the doctors find some relief for you.

Luvs is right, we spend a great deal of time "off topic" here. And I love it, but keep wondering if the Holiday Police are gonna nail us one of these days! Sure hope not.

Kathleen, I looked up star plates on eBay and Pfaltzgraff on Internet. Found some red star ones like yours but they are $17. Whew, you definitely got a good buy. I found a red cookie star plate on eBay. Shipping makes stuff too expensive tho. Darn.

Karen, those prices are nuts! They have the white ones I got now for abt 7, and those red ones were 2.00 after Cmas. Somebody is making a lot of money!!
At the end of the summer they should have them on sale again too. go to Pfaltzgraff.com, they have clearance, etc...

Kathleen, I just went to their site and the star plates are on clearance. The white ones normally $26, now $8. Red ones on clearance for $12. I decided to go ahead and order 2 white star plates. Shipping was $7.
