So far...2 items I got that I DON'T like about new home...
Comments (16)boycrzee, yes I have seen (or heard) about stairs that have drawers in them. I thought it was a good idea too. Just make sure no one leaves one open while walking down the stairs late one night-LOL! Well, I did get two of the four holes taken care of, in taking down the towel warmer. My DH put a towel bar that was just the right space apart. I still have the two upper ones to take care of. If you didn't know they were there, you probably would never notice it, but, I know, and my eyes fall right to those two holes in the wallpaper. And, really, since I got the sink grid for the farm sink, it really is so much better! Either that, or I am getting use to it. I do have to say, I like being able to fit big pans in it. brutuses, I was really trying not to sound like you offended me, but, I guess I couldn't get the right words out. I didn't take it that way. I bet we will be hearing some "Hallelujah's" when you move into your home. At least on yours, you've taken the time to really think things out. We had to rush through some things, but, did try to think of everything-which never happens!...See MoreBill ?? I don't like my new tiled floor - re-tile?
Comments (1)He SHOULD be able to do it so it looks like the original installation. As for how happy he'll be about it (read that to say how much he'll charge you for it), I couldn't tell you, and of course, you'd have to know that before you can tell whether or not it's worth it. Wouldn't hurt to ask....See MoreHelp! I don't think I like my new recessed lights! What to do?
Comments (18)I'm glad to hear that the LED lights are working for you. It sounds like you have a much bigger space than we do, with only 2 more lights. I think this was perhaps our biggest mistake -- just too many of these lights. (As I mentioned, I was worried that LEDs wouldn't put out enough light). Maybe if we had only installed 4 of them, the amount of light would be ok. To reduce the number to 4 at this point would require completely re-placing the lights and rewiring. I wonder also if the increased number of lights in our smaller space is amplifying the effect of the flickering? i.e. maybe it wouldn't be noticeable if the lights were further apart? The housing and dimmer switch we have are both on the compatible list on the Cree website. All 7 of the lights are connected to the same dimmer switch. So I'm not sure what the problem is. When they are on at full power, they don't buzz or flicker. We had friends over yesterday and at full power they thought the lights looked great. (It wasn't too bright for them). Then I dimmed them and they didn't think the buzzing was too bad. They also didn't really notice much flickering. But then I started waving my arms around and they were shocked. The strobe effect when the lights were dimmed made my kitchen seem like a disco! Cbjmidwood, when you dim your lights and wave your arms around, is there any strobing?...See MoreUgh! I don't think I like our bathroom light fixture :( (PIC)
Comments (28)hlove: Ah, we have similar taste! My sister-in-law designed our bathroom and gets credit for the floor idea (I picked the green accent tile and showed her pics of what I liked and she did the rest). The floor tile actually comes all white. It was her brilliant idea to pop out a few of the white tiles and insert the green glass tiles as accents. Honestly, I ADORE how it came out! It gives the floor the perfect amount of sparkle! If you want, I can ask her where she found the white floor tile (the green glass tile came from Lowes). Best wishes with your shelf hunt and upcoming bath remodel! janealexa: Lol! I was just about to start glass shelf shopping! You caught me in the nick of time! Yes, I like clean simple lines too and don't want to clutter things up. I'm glad you agree that the light would look too high if we moved it up (yes, DH would NOT have been happy with that request, the poor guy has been busting his butt on our new house for so long, the last thing he needs is unnecessary added work from me). So - I will keep it as is! And yes, I LOVE this forum!! Everyone is so incredibly kind and helpful! Truly amazing people on here! I am so grateful for all of your help, and don't know what I would do without you! Thank You! :)...See Morefirstmmo
