How about just the bench and getting a great basket or tray (that drains) and putting your products in it? That way you can get both. This might work especially if the bench is at least partly shielded from view from outside, if you care about your products being out in the open. The niches are useful but they do take some extra cleaning and I have to say that I don't love them. (there have been threads on the value of niches--people have definite views!) The bench is a really nice look. I am not sure how much anyone really uses it to sit (maybe as I age, I will sing a different tune) but it is nice to prop up the leg when washing or shaving.

I'll be making the bench, so I've got a lot of choices I can make. That is a very attractive looking bench. I like the wide slats and small gaps. The curve from from side to side looks great, but I'd think that a human contoured seat should be curved from front to back. I'll have to clamp a bunch of 3/4' lumber together to experiment with the sort of shape that is most comfortable to sit on. I just found an example of front to back curvature. We have two showerheads - one on the wall to the right as you enter the shower. The second one is across from the door. DH is tall and likes a higher showerhead, so the first one (and most used) is higher. The one on the opposite wall is lower for my 5'3" self. I also have a hand shower adjacent to the lower wall shower. it's a godsend for cleaning the shower and also for showering off kids and pets. I use it occasionally if I need a quick shower and don't want to take the time to squeegee the entire glass enclosure. We have a very large shower with a large corner bench. (FYI the bench is too cold to sit on unless you cover it with a towel.) The marble will freeze your tush! When we built the bathroom, my desire was to make it more accessible in case of a disability down the line. In the meantime it worked well using the hand shower after I broke my foot!

In the land of easy answers, any bench must fit the space for which it is intended. Most benches are not less than 15" deep, and most are 18" deep and few are 24 inches, unless set to exactly fill a niche of that depth.. Seat height is fairly standard at 18 inches, with or without a cushion. It matters not what is in the photo, it matters only. your own space and passage through the space. Do I get the car? I am guessing the bench in photo at exactly 16" depth, and 18 inch height, with boxed and welted partial cushion with 2.5 inch foam and poly wrap, inclusive of a back zipper unseen in photo.Probably executed in performance velvet or micro suede................
