Which liquid bath soap...
Comments (19):) actually, the only problems I've ever had is finding scents that both DH and I like- honestly, lilac does smell funny on large, burly men- not to mention that it seems to 'spoil' faster on them! Karma Sutra's Clove is our favorite, but it's a once a year treat to buy a bottle, since it's not cheap. Yves Rocher makes some great ones in Green Tea, bamboo, and Cypress (along with rose, honeysuckle, and watermelon) that DH really likes, as well- and you can usually get them for like $3 a bottle....See MoreSoap Question
Comments (2)Add anything that isn't the base at trace--fragrances, herbs, leftover soap from other batches. If you are talking about REbatching, then wait until your base batch melts, & add your new items when you're about to mold, because rebatching temps are sustained for a longer time & can kill fragrance, herbal benefits, etc. I don't rebatch only because in my opinion it is kinda a waste of time-- you're not actually making new soap, you're just "melting" old soap. What I DO do, is make a new soap, pour a little into the molds at trace, add my old chopped or grated pieces, pour a little more new soap, stir it up, add more, pour more... until I have a nice layer cake-- all done, of course, at the speed of light so the new soap doesn't seize on me. Comes out chunky & pretty. Good luck....See MoreBath Mouldable Soap
Comments (1)This is what I have for a recipe.. I haven't tried it.. I got this from somewhere and can't remember where! Lol I do remember that it said, if you kept it in a bag after mixing that it should stay mold-able until you want to use it.. but I'm not positive. Hope this helps! :0) Soap Dough 2 cups flour 1/2 cup salt 2 Tbs. liquid tempera 1 Tbs. liquid soap 1/2 cup water Mix all the dry ingredients together. In a separate bowl, mix the soap, tempera, and water. Add the water to the dry mixture. Knead until pliable. Have fun...looks like the kids could even help make it! Comments (5)First home, I too like making things from scratch, cold processed soap and masalas/currys (I get some of my spices from Sri Lanka, for example) are just 2 of them. I prefer cold process to hot. Some soapers prefer hot processed soap, I always struggled to make them look like store-bought, so I make cold processed and hate rebatching. It is economical? For a few bars definitely not. If you like giving as gifts or going retail, then probably, but you may never give up your day job, to pick this soapmaking up to keep food on the table (bin there, done that). It's a tough slog, some do it, but I would never rely on it now. While you are thinking about picking up tools and supplies, then start looking now. I get the stick mixers for example from second hand outlets, and I keep the buckets which the oils and fats come in to mix soap recipes. Good luck with whatever you choose. B....See Moremaxmom96
