Finished Bathroom Pics (two bathrooms!)--very pic heavy
Comments (41)Wooo!!! Cat, I am stuck at home because of the snow storm so wandered around here not looking at anything in particular and came upon your thread. I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor....See MoreBathroom Remodel Tile the Wall or just Paint? Pics inside
Comments (20)In the master bedroom, I have beige marble saturnia. I understand what you are saying, but I really don't think a clear/blueish translucent glass in the shower, and then the 2nd backsplash I linked for the wall behind the vanity (not the electric blue one) wouldn't work with the beige porcelain. I mean the beige color is a neutral color, I will then have expresso as the vanity color, similar glass to the subway tile glass on the vanity top and the vessel bowls, so not sure why the beige porcleain wouldnt work? It would blend well with the master bedroom floor and I would imagine it would just provide a neutral color. I think if I go with a pure gray it will be too dark and dreary. I just hope whatever floor I pick that the contractor does it with 1/8" grout lines with a grout color that matches very well. I hope the contractor doesnt give me a hard time about the 1/8" grout lines and a hard time when I ask for it to be a diagonal layout. I am going to do 18"x18". To Tina, I agree, I dont think a border will be necessary in the shower, I just didnt know if it was "too much" glass all in one area and needed to be broken up. But I looked online and many subway glass showers have no border. In terms of metal finish, you mean like on the vanity and shower? Well the vanity doesnt give me any other option but chrome, and I was going to get this shower panel: Shower panel...See MorePics: 1826 bathroom remodel (finished; starphire vs. regular)
Comments (37)Kevin, Can you tell me 2 things about your vanity? What is the open dimensions of the sinks? (width and front to back)? And, what is the width of the under sink cabinet portion (the part directly under the sink). Thanks! I'm planning 2 60" double vanities (for 2 bathrooms) and want to make sure I have right size cabinets and sinks....See MoreThird time is a charm (I hope)....
Comments (27)If there's no sink in an island, then I still think the DW needs to be moved. It's not just that it's in the corner or that it's near the cooktop/range, it's that it's in the middle of the Prep Zone and will be a major obstacle if one person is cleaning up while another is prepping and/or cooking or if someone wants to put something in or take something out of the DW while others are prepping and/or cooking. I can't tell where the trash pullout is, but I would either put it where the current DW is (my recommendation) or put it b/w the oven and range. The first location is convenient to all three primary work zones. The second location is convenient to the the Cooking Zone, less so to the Prep Zone, and even less to the Cleanup Zone. In both locations, it won't cause outsiders to cross the Cooking Zone to get to it. In the first location, it might cause someone prepping to step out of the way, but it's smaller than a DW and won't be as big a deal as a DW....See Morecat_mom
