Which FD Refrigerator is More Reliable? LG or KitchenAid ?
Comments (16)I have a kitchen aid too. mine is the full depth version that is 32 5/8" wide X 70" tall. I was going to get a narrow SxS to fit in the smallish corner that is provided by my kitchen lay out but decided a french door would do better with some help in here. At the time I wanted ice and water in the door but found that to be an expensive idea in this type and size. I ended up with this KA because we found it at HH Gregg as a floor model close out, they were not going to carry this size any more which is near 22 cuft. this one has water and ice but the water is in the fridge which work fine and stays cleaner than on the door might. Mine looks like Fivezero's but it sticks out more from the cabinet and the left door is narrower than the right. I have no issue with gallons in either side, the bottom left door shelf will only hold one being not as wide but I still have room for a katshup bottle next to it. The right bottom shelf also often has two tea pitchers. I like the crispers and the bottom try that we use one side of for deli meats and cheeses and the other side for other small snacks. I have made the layout work well. I like the freezer too the bins are nice, I think its easier to find items than the top freezer model I had, a 29 year old Frigidaire that was still running and running. I had the KA since April 2012 so far its been running well. the only fault I can find is that if its humid you will need to use the moisture control option and sometimes I have seen condensation on the center bar that makes the seal between the doors and t drips down to the freezer gasket and needs an occasional wipe this summer, but then I don't have central ac in my old house to keep it more evenly cool than window units to so others my not see that small issue....See MoreHelp me decide: Kitchen Aid Architect vs Samsung, LG and Whirlpoo
Comments (0)Hi! After pining for a GE Cafe dual fuel for a year I've decided the budget can't stand that much "good" and want to do something less pricey (under $2K) but still highly functional. Considering 5 burner gas ranges with warming drawers and a "power burner." Can't find a single review on the Kitchen Aid KGRS308BSS (with slow cook warming drawer) but am leaning toward it b/c like the idea of slow cooking in it but still getting a powerful set of burners at 18K/15K/ 9.5K/ 8K/ 5K simmer. Other options are Samsung FX710BGS with "warming only drawer" and same burners btus. Or, the LG LRG3093SB with burners 19K/12K/9.1K/8K/5K. Or, the Whirl pool WFG720H0AS 17K/15K/9.5K/8K/5K. Any thoughts or feedback for me? I ruled out the GE Profile P2B930SETSS on price -- it's $2.5K and I can get the GE Dual fuel for that, too......See MoreOverwhelmed, LG or KitchenAid Refrigerator?
Comments (11)I replaced my 25 cu ft Amana, bottom freezer, just last month. The compressor failed for the second time in its approx. 10 years - the first time was the day before we closed on this house 3 years ago and the seller had the compressor replaced (with my approval). Without a lot of choices in my small coastal community (and using a spare in the garage being stored here by a friend to hold my food), I didn't feel I had comfortable time to overly research but did find an acceptable 25 cu ft Kitchen Aid French door, ice and water inside not through the door, bottom freezer. It's fine. Not perfect, but as perfect as any I saw at Sears, Home Depot and an appliance store an hour away where I made my purchase. The warranty on the Kitchen Aid was better than the others. A little less than $2000 with sales tax in this state. I had just mentioned in a thread different forum last week, when it was uncrated to be installed, I noticed the wine rack packaged as Amana, some of the door shelves wrapped with Whirlpool on the packaging. I'm getting used to a little different configuration, it seems to have plenty of space for our needs, holds the temperature settings accurately....See MoreRange hoods - Kitchen Aid vs. Kobe vs. Kenmore vs. GE Profile vs cheap
Comments (1)Hopefully you'll get some specific advice but I have a suspicion that all you can really do is check looks, size, and CFM and hope for the best. Since you can't really tell in a showroom how noisy they'll be because they aren't ducted properly, you CAN check things like how easy it is to remove the thingies to clean, how good the lights are, how likely it is that knobs will fall into the pot, and stuff like that....See More- 10 years ago
