steam cleaning floors-should we invest in a steam cleaner?

We have a floor that is made of small pebbles held together with epoxy resin and sealed with some type of sealant. The company that installed it recommends steam cleaning once a year. The floor is wonderful-requires very little cleaning except vacuuming. The bid for one cleaning of the epoxy stone flooring is $295. We also have about 5 rooms of carpet (a very low, tight, commercial nylon carpet) plus two long staircases in the same commercial carpet. I am wondering if a steam cleaning machine might be a good investment for us. We are ardent do it yourselfers and our home is a bed and breakfast so we need to do lots of cleaning. What suggestions do you have for our situation, please. Thanks for you help. Daryl
