IMHO, if there is a 48" version, as grannabelle says, get it instead of the 42". ALL of the extra 6" goes into useful storage space, as the amount of insulation remains the same. In addition, in many lines (I have a 48" SZ) the price difference is negligible. If you have never had a built-in or counter depth fridge before, they are more shallow in use than they appear in the store.

Well, it's been quite awhile since I posted about getting a Jennair integrated refrigerator. The kitchen is finished, and the refrigerator is installed. I wanted a paneled look so it is now in place with the panels attached. It's a beauty, however I"m having MAJOR issues, unfortunately. To start with, the installer set up the enclosure at 24" deep. The installation guide seems to indicate that is ok although it recommends 25", but it ended up leaving a small side piece exposed. My contractor figured out a way to add some shoe molding on the sides, which looks pretty good. But the major and really puzzling-and infuriating-problem seems to be with ventilation at the top, in front of the compressor. The cabinet company made the panel to fit over the compressor to specs, but to my shock when it was installed there was a large gap, at least an inch wide and quite visible. Not acceptable at all for an *integrated* refrigerator. I've spoken to Jennair who referred me to their installation expert. He hasn't been very helpful and indeed in the installation guide it seems to indicate the large and very unsightly gap is necessary. This is not what I expected when I spent $6200 for a refrigerator that was supposedly going to fit like a piece of cabinetry. The contractor tried adding some molding to cover the gap but that resulted in obvious overheating. He's not giving up and I'm going to check back in with the 'expert' next week. At this point we're discussing trying to put some kind of louvered cover up there to help with ventilation. Sorry for the long ramble, and I should include a picture but don't have the camera available now. Anyone have the Jennair integrated? Anyone ever hear about this issue?

I'm sorry for your awful (and ongoing?) experience. I ordered a KA French door bottom freezer this summer (along w/a KA microwave) .. it took MONTHs to arrive - thinking it was a problem w/the local small appliance dealer I went to Sears to order the range (an Arch. ll series slide in all gas convec. range). Big Mistake. Ordered on 9/11 .. still has not arrived - and no single minded dealer to go to bat for me- just Sears pretending helplessness in their ongoing corporate posturing w/Whirlpool - WP apparently holds a grudge against Sears for not allowing WP to sell Kenmore parts. Arggghhh .. it's awful to be in the crossfire btwn Whirlpool and Sears. Feel like I'd be jumping from the frying pan into the fire going to Lowes/Best Buy etc (all of which cannot get the range until after Thanksgiving anyway!!!). BTW, the refrigerator and microw. I ordered? Still not installed due to delays w/kitchen renovation .. but that's another (although closely related) problem. :) I'm going to post on this separately ... want to see if anyone on the face of this earth has actually RECEIVED the same sort of range I ordered!

Can either of you give me pics of the actual door gasket (sealer). I'd like to see for myself how they designed it. It's a huge amount of $$ to drop on something sight unseen. It would be an open door picture of both doors at the point where they come together when the refrigerator is closed. Many thanks.
