My Ex-housekeeper....used vinegar on my dark rust marble floors and it etched lines and spot all over. I had a pro come in and try to buff it out but it didn't work. I have several marble floors and I use Windex without vinegar dilluted in a bucket of warm water. Thats my 2c worth. Nancy

I am 99% sure your DH is not missing the target. It is the nature of water to splash when a stream of water hits it from a couple feet up. Try this yourself with a tub of water outside. Put paper towels around the tub and pour a small stream of water into it. The paper towels will show you where the splashes hit. Having said that, you are still getting a little urine even from the splash. But I would guess more of your problem is just water spots drying on the floor. Do you have hard water? They could be hard water rings. If so, then vinegar would take them off. Of course vinegar also takes the shine off of marble. I won't have marble in the house so I don't know if there is a mildly abrasive marble polish that might help you.

I use a Hoover Floormate #800. I love this thing and it was worth the high price. A friend had one and raved about it and she let me use hers twice. I was hooked. Easy to operate - it's just like vacuuming. It vacuums up dust and hair and crumbs, sprays a disinfecting cleaning solution down, then spinning bristles scrub the floor spotless, then it squeegeys and sucks up all the water leaving your floors practically dry. All in one sweep! It leaves a pleasant scent too, not "disinfectant smelling and not all 'flower-y' either. There is a special attachment and special bristles for doing grout and special grout cleaner to use if you wish. The #800 model has two hose attachments for tight spaces and corners. Floormate can be used in kitchens and on wood or laminate floors all over the house. This is not an advertisement. I just love my Floormate and wanted to share. If you go to those consumer ratings sites like Epinions or Amazon you will see that with Floormate people either LOVE the thing or they hate the thing. There does not seem to be any 'in between' ratings. If my bathroom floor does not really need a cleaning and just has daily dust and hair I run a Swiffer over it. You can save money by just using a square of paper towel that has been sprayed with either plain water or some disinfectant spray cleaner. It will still pick up dust and hair.

If anyone had an idea who that was, I would. The bulding is 10 years old, and we bought the apartment 5 years ago, and moved in 16 months ago. When I have needed other info, the building manager just says that the developer left no info, not even drawings of the building. I had to ask the super what the floor material even was.
