I did one years ago down in Homestead, Florida where the tub walls, as well as the 3 1/2 foot wainscot and countertop was blue pearl. They used a subdued lighting, with brass fixtures, and man, the effect was breathtaking.

Bill I didn't realize you did work down here? I am in Ft. Lauderdale, how cool. I guess you don't have pictures of that bathroom cause you always post pic's. I am glad you say it came out so well. I need a nudge/ shove in a direction thanks.

You're right, I don't have pics. But at the time, I lived in South Dade, down in the Redlands. The guy who MADE me as good as I am, though, is still a contractor down there in Homestead. :-)

We have crystal blue 12x12 granite tiles in our tub/shower and a crystal blue granite slab countertop.

With the light floors between the two areas it does not look to "matchy"

We have a granite shower and did go ahead and use the same granite on the vanity. It doesn't seem too overwhelming to us, especially since they're on different walls so you don't really see it all at the same time. Here's the shower:

I'll have to tell DH. I argued for a smaller rainshower, but he wanted the huge one. He does love it, though (I don't use it as often), so I'll call it worth the expense.
