These are very close to Dove White which we used for all the trim and ceiling. The granite is Santa Cecilia Gold - we just replaced the perimeter Corian with it, the island was done a few years back. This doesn't show the brushed nickel faucet. We're in the process of updating the light fixtures and knobs to ORB, but for now they're brass. The island will be getting corbels to finish it off more nicely. I also included a link to a great granite site. While you really need to go to a good granite yard, you might find it helpful to see which colors appeal to you. Weissman, he estimated $2700-$3000 for install, for 90+ sq ft (of both countertop and a large island). He said he'd give me the total when I picked the granite. So I am trying to figure out if Volcano, Golden Thunder, etc, are expensive or REALLY expensive :-) I'm guessing that veiny granite is more expensive than speckled, as a whole. When I bought the lights yesterday, the sales guy told me he and his wife were told that granite was usually $20-25 a square foot, but the one his wife picked was $42 a sq ft, without installation. She didn't remember what it was called!

Thanks for your suggestions! Yes the fireplace is working and unfortunately I think the TV is too big to put on the fireplace (it sticks out at the end, is that okay?). As for the dining table, there is no real space behind the bar stools. That is the entrance to our home and it's just a narrow hallway. The other thing I'm worried about with putting the TV where it is now is that the space behind the couch feels under-utilized...
