need under cabinet range hood - "Best" by Broan?
Comments (15)Stainless from all brands matches pretty well. Stainless will never look exactly alike appliance to appliance, even within the same brand, since different appliances are made from different rolls of stainless and often come from different factories. Also keep in mind that most appliance manufacturers do not make their own hoods anyway; they buy them from different ventilation manufacturers like Best. It is possible you could get the exact same thing as the above if you bought a Wolf hood (not sure who is making theirs now)....See MoreBest by Broan vs. Vent a Hood
Comments (5)One big difference I have found in the price of hoods is the type of stainless they are made from. A Best hood is 403 stainless and the Vent a hood is 304 I believe. Best makes a "marine grade" stainless hood in the "WP" series out of 316 which is the best and it costs twice as much as the "KA" series. If you live in a coastal area with salt air you WILL get rust spots on a 403 stainless hood. You can polish out the spots and coat the metal to help this out but the finish will not look nearly as good as a 316 hood....See MoreBest by Broan range hood
Comments (4)I have one. I can't tell you the exact model number, but it is a 42" professional style with 3 halogen lights and a variable speed control on the fan. We got the blower separately -- it is a 1200 cfm external blower and we are using a 10" round duct out the top with one 90 and one 45 degree turn. We don't have a silencer on it and we still don't have the cabinetry panel installed in front of it (it was wrong and had to be reordered -- by way of Siberia, apparently). I was cooking bacon yesterday and had the blower up to about 3/4 speed. I couldn't hear it over the sizzling bacon. At the lower speeds (lowest or a little above), where we use it for most things other than bacon, fish or similar, we have forgotten to turn it off and noticed the hum an hour or two later. It does not have a heat sensor, so you turn it off and on. That means it won't turn on automaticaly for you, but it also means it won't stay running forever....See MoreWolf Range hood and Broan / Best exterior blower combo
Comments (15)OK better late than never. I finally got the wolf hood fan and broan 335 They are working as designed. For reference, my Wolf range hood was the pro hood..PW482718 I believe. Inside the hood there was just one electrical wire. This wire connects to the house 120V supply. There are also two regular electrical plugs inside the hood. These electrical plugs are where you plug in the blower (remote or internal) You will need your electrician to run a 3 conductor wire from the blower down to the range hood. Here are the differences between the Broan and Wolf remote blowers: The wolf external blower comes with a power cord that plugs into the plugs in the hood. You then splice this cord together with the cord from the remote blower and hide it in the junction box inside the hood. The broan remote blower does not come with this cord. Fortunately it is just a standard 3 prong plug. Just picture a computer power supply plug, and cut the end that connects into the power supply off. Just make sure it is rated for the amperage of the remote blower. Plug one end of this cord into the outlet inside the range hood, and splice the other end to the wires coming down from the remote blower. On the other hand you can purchase the official wolf cord but it is like $65 That's it, everything works as planned, the blower fan speeds are infinite. Lights, heat lamps, etc all work if wired this way. There may be slight differences cosmetically on the exterior of the blower, but without having both I can't say. All I can say is the broan 335 works with 100% with the wolf pro hood, you just need to supply a power cord....See Morecmm6797
