HELP..Kohler vs. Delta, Acrylic vs. tiled shower floor
Comments (4)We purchased a Kohler acrylic (?) Archer shower pan, sight unseen. We immediately returned it--it had no non-slip, the color doesn't go through and through, and we were concerned about the possiblity of cracking (despite spectrolight--sp? underneath). We ended up getting a Kohler cast iron pan instead (~3' X 4'). They had two in the size we needed--both are the same, but the no-slip grip pattern is slightly different in each (we got the one with the "grid" pattern). The shower hasn't been used yet, but the pan looks good, and we are more confident about its longevity than we were with the other one....See MoreHow do you feel about solid surface (Corian) shower walls vs tile?
Comments (117)Hi, anyone from Vancouver Canada? I have been trying to find a source for a Corian solid surface shower pan but am having a difficult time finding one. I've called a few bathroom supply stores and went to a few Home Depot and they only have the ugly acrylic ones and only in white, Corian.com does not even mention this type of product so why is that? If it's such a great product why wouldn't they advertise it?...See MoreMy Alcove Tub Shower-Niches, Corner Shelves and Baskets-What To Do?
Comments (11)warning - old post that i have a question about - @palimpsest - I want to add a long shelf in my alcove tub/shower combo vs. having a niche installed. Sounds like exactly what you did in your bathrooms. Would you mind posting some photos + a brief explanation of how it was installed? My contractor and I have discussed a couple ideas, but I’m still looking for the best way to do this. Thanks!...See Moreshower shelf or shower basket
Comments (9)Thanks for your comments (hadn't thought about cleaning aspect). That's the medium size basket, could get large if it makes more sense. The bath also has a rim/shelf, we'll have a shower curtain with new setup, so that's a viable space, too. On the current fiberglass surround, we keep shampoo/rinse on rim/shelf at back of tub and soap on shelf by showerhead. So the baskets could be primarily for soap since we're already trained. One of my concerns was whether or not the front of shower would be too visually cluttered with all the shower hardware and baskets....See Morealina_1
