Any opinions on Fleurco or Dreamline bypass shower doors?
Comments (2)I can't offer my opinion on Fleurco or DreamLine (or Vigo), but I can recommend Maax. We have Maax Gondola, sliding tub door, it is very nice and sturdy with 3/8" glass. Now, for next bathroom remodel, I ordered Maax Mechanix M1. It is also 3/8" glass, frameless, almost 80" high which is perfect for rain shower head....See MoreCan I get away without a shower door with this layout?
Comments (26)i think if you have a regular shower head, there will still be splashing issues, if you do a overhead "rainfall" shower head, then it will probably be okay. But I see a waste of space in your layout. why do you need a "full height" wall at the bottom of the shower area? is there some kind of code you have to fulfill? Can you just make the left side the shower area from top to bottom, then extend the "pony wall" a little longer to keep things proportional? and turn the corner seat to a flip down wall bench....See MoreFrameless Sliding Glass Shower Doors -- Any Well Engineered Ones?
Comments (12)"...Are there any hi-quality makers of frameless shower sliders?..." I thinks Fleurco is the Best in Class Winner here. Their hardware works beautifully. These doors can be ordered as kits with the glass or you can order just the hardware by itself. Make sure you shy away from a fully topical waterproofed shower pan with you barrier free build since you will need to secure a floor clip. I would do a recessed shower floor and take an approach like this for the barrier free. The dark blue section of the shower is under flood test and later had 2" of Laticrete 3701 mortar bed installed to bring the floor even with the outside of the shower. The light blue material is again NobleSeal CIS and the entire room is a wetroom After the floor test was done 2 capillary breaks where installed. One at the entry to the bathroom and one across the shower entry. Good Luck....See MoreFull glass wall without a door in shower
Comments (3)If the door opening is going to be open I would not think you would need the glass wall to be open for ventilation but that is up to you. Taking to the ceiling will make it more secure as without it going to the ceiling you will probably need a support bar of some support. Of course this is all conjecture from the little info you have offered....See Morebobb_2010
