I am so glad I found someone to share my interests. :-D I love NPR. Been listening to it off and on for a few years. Much more so for the past year. When the programs get too depressing, I switch to a classical music station. :-) AND PBS! Is anybody watching PBS? I am a big fan of PBS even though we have Direct TV. In Chicago, there are 2 PBS stations. I watch these 2 stations 99% of the times. I love news programs from different countries around the world, commentaries and documentaries--both on NPR & PBS. News programs on the mainstream stations are too narrow and focus only on the US and US interests shutting out the rest of the world. And is anybody interested in foreign films? I've been watching Spanish, Dutch, French, German, Swedish, Japanese films. lol. And Chinese. Even the Middle East. I am enormored of Japanese films, most specifically Akira Kurosawa's films. :-D

First, I don't live on my PC, I was away all weekend. So your not getting a run around. Second, you have NOT described the problem sufficiently for me to know whats wrong with your car. One thing is certain though, I do NOT suspect the torque convertor (a transaxle component) based on the pieces of information that you have provided. Now that is not a diagnosis that is saying it's not bad, I'll repeat, I don't suspect it's the problem. But there is a definate problem with getting you to verbalize in a way that allows me to "feel" what your car is doing without me having first hand experience driving it while it's acting up. You cannot blame a shop, a technician, or someone on this board, be they a technician or not for your failure to be able to communicate to us(me) exactly what your car is doing. FWIW, it's quite likely the problem with your car is engine control related. But before I type out a series of questions in order to attempt to draw from you what I would need to know in order to even try and figure out whats going on, you have to agree to answer them in a yes, or no fashion. Plus then add details as you feel necessary, without trying to decide in advance what you think the problem with the car is.

Ok...California isn't in the lead on this. New York is. There was litigation in the NY Courts that led to what is known as their "Amazon Law" that lets NY force Amazon to collect NY sales tax by virtue of NY based third-party sellers having partnership agreements with Amazon. VT, MA, RI, IL, CO, GA, CT and now CA have since filed legislation to mimic what NY did. THIS DOESN'T mean the states can now compel remote sellers to collect their tax! It only applies where that seller has a partnership agreement with an in-state business pushing sales through their website. THAT said, we all owe the USE TAX. It's the law. I find it interesting that many of the same folks who rail about Democrats trying to raise taxes (which happens to be factually inaccurate) don't seem to care about breaking the law, resulting in budget deficits that leave states short of operating revenue that lead to discussions of the need to raise taxes! You can't complain about your kids getting a crappy education, the roads being bad, bridges failing, etc. if you don't pay the taxes you lawfully owe! That's as unpatriotic as you get. I find it hard to understand how the masses on the right fall for the complete ruse that they will somehow benefit from the Gov't giving tax breaks to the uber-wealthy and to Corporations who are buying those tax breaks with lobbying dollars. It's been proven to be bull time and again. Oil companies are reaping record profits while enjoying ridiculous tax breaks and shifting the burden of the shortfall to the rest of us! PLUS, we now have the privilege of perpetuating their ownership of the U.S. Government by our paying them $5.00/gallon! If you understand anything about investigative tactics in police work..."follow-the-money" almost always leads you back to the perpetrator. While there's plenty of blame to dole out on both sides of the aisle, it doesn't take a genius to figure out which major party is the prime offender. What can be said about this but wake up America! What happened to government for the people, by the people? The Constitution says "people" not "corporations!" As for the uncollected sales tax issue, there is an effort called the Streamlined Sales Tax Project aimed at encouraging Congress to lift the Supreme Court restrictions on requiring remote sellers to collect tax for the states in exchange for the states simplifying and making their laws more uniform so that it doesn't cost businesses so much to comply! Unsurprisingly, the bill continues to stall due to opposition by the majority of Republicans who don't want to be "perceived" as levying new taxes even though the taxes are already legally due and are just being criminally ignored. Thankfully this year there is some Republican support. Rep. Senator Mike Enzi of WY is cosponsoring the bill this session with Senator Richard Durbin of IL. Until REAL campaign finance reform is adopted and publicly funded political campaigns are MANDATORY and Corporate lobbying $ prohibited, this country will NOT be truly free.

The Squeezebox product line originated the concept of transmitting music from various sources - one's personally ripped CD collection, streaming radio and music sites like Pandora, any one any time - over a home network (whether wired or Wifi). It was purchased by Logitech, which basically didn't know what to do with it. Product manufacturing was discontinued. The product line was mostly focused on transport to amps or powered speakers and only at the end added a few different actual players of its own Sonos does the same thing as Squeezebox with a few small exceptions, somewhat less well. It has more speaker products and only one transport product. To my ear, the sound of the speaker products is meh. You can tell, I have and use extensive Squeezebox systems in two homes. I've also installed Sonos systems for friends so I'm very familiar with how it works too. The Squeezebox ecosystem remains alive and well and because much of the key software had always been in the public domain, new capabilities are added and new versions are released pretty regularly. If you have an existing decent stereo system or powered speakers, use the Sonos Port to connect it to the Sonos system. Or the Sonos Amp to connect wired speakers If you want just a speaker in one room and don't care much about sound quality, get one of the single combo speaker products like the One. Problem is, no stereo separation from those. How I would compare them - Sonos is like Apple products, they set themselves up on autopilot. Customization or feature choices are limited, one way fits all. Squeezeboxes are like Windows or Android devices - very configurable and flexible for the user's preferences. If I were setting up a new system today from scratch, if unable to find used Squeezebox products on Ebay, I would use Sonos because it's a current product. That's my advice for anyone else, use Sonos. However, that's a bit of a gratuitous comment. I've accumulated enough spare/extra Squeezebox devices that I should never have to switch to Sonos.
