Sharing today's table with my new mirrored chargers I got as a gift for Christmas.. Hope you enjoy~

Your Top Hat table is top shelf!
It is so formal and glamorous
It should be Black Tie required!!

Thanks, Nana. I have used it a few times, Cmas and St. Pats. And now I am going to cover it and make it into an Easter bunny hat! Must get lots of use to make them worthwhile!

We made three batches of peanut brittle, and my "student" was amazed that it was that easy! DH's uncle would be proud that his "recipe" is one of our annual traditions. Homemade Peanut Brittle 1 cup sugar 1 cup raw spanish peanuts 1 cup Karo clear syrup Heat the ingredients on medium heat in a heavy saucepan, bring to a boil and cook until peanuts have turned from white to golden. When you start to smell the aroma, it is getting close to being done. Remove from heat, add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and stir in. Mixture will foam. Beat until foam subsides then pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet spreading as you go. Let cool until it easily releases from the cookie sheet then break into pieces and enjoy. Mixture is very hot and sticky--do not get any on your skin. Pans will clean up easily if filled with hot soapy water and left to soak a few minutes. Have to tell you about DH checking out the table. He remembered when I had bought the little hats--he always trys to rush me out of Cracker Barrel before I find something I want! He asked where I got "those ruffled plates", meaning the chargers. And of course I replied "Oh I've had them for months, just hadn't had a chance to use them." He said "that's what you always say". I'm just amazed at how much more he notices now that he is retired! everyone did a spectacular job. i had hoped to join in, but other things got in the way. i actually did some baking, but never got around to the decorating. i love everything that has been posted and if my scanner was hooked up -- actually, if i can find the cable - i would post some previous things i made and show off my "talent". unfortunately, i can't find the dang thing. terri, if you cooked/baked for me, i certainly would appreciate it all! all the meals are incredible and sharon, your pix are just to die for. what a lovely country you live in and what incredible dishes you make and pix you take. maryanne

natal, Today I spoke to my friend/client who has been helping me with my home improvements and asked him if we could switch the doors to open out of the closet. He feels this will be difficult to do since the closets face one another with a tiny hallway separating them that would only allow one door to open if the bathroom door straight ahead is closed since that opens toward the hall and the other closet is closed. Then, I was told, he would have to square off the side the door hits inside the doorway since the rounded part is there and then the square part would be on the outside. He would have to move the hinges on one side and move the piece that the door connects with when the handle is turned. He told me if was a big job and then would have to be repainted in places. He would do it for me when he had time but does not think it would work for that skinny hallway. I still would like it done if possible or I will have to remove the doors or just walk into the small walk-in closet (good for only walking in and standing with the door shut but not a walk-in closet like I envisioned where you can open the door and see both sides and all within but I am still blessed to have the closet space.) and shut the door when I need to see what is the other side of the closet. The space is not wide enough for the bi-fold mirror door I found unless the door area is drilled to make it wider. Why would anyone design a townhouse with closets that look nice to sell a place but are not that practical to use? On the brighter side of things, I love the white three-tiered wire shelves I bought for the closet and have put my shoes on them. I returned the tie/belt rack tonight since it was not working out and bought two white utility racks for my belts that can be secured on the wall or door that I feel will help me out in organizing my belts. I love belts and wear them all the time so I have a lot and they wear out quickly. My clock radio would not fit on my tiny round metal table so I am glad I found a tiny white alarm clock for $14.99 at Target also. I am pleased and now just need to work on the door issue before I can take pictures for everyone.

Those chargers were a fabulous gift!!
The dining room table makes my best dressed list!
Just the right combination of black, white, and bling.

I enjoyed it very much.

Kathleen, your mirrored chargers are wonderful. Another beautiful table. The top hat cp with fresh daisies and hearts is so pretty. Then I see the little ones with a heart and mirror name tags.WOW

Beautiful dishes and flatware too. Oh, I keep forgetting to tell you how wonderful all your food looks. I'm sure I would love to be a guest at any of your tables.Yum Yum

Can hardly wait till you show your Easter bunny hat. I bought one of those hats after seeing yours and don't think I've ever used it on one of my tables. Guess I need some fresh flowers to add! Mine was only a quarter at a ys.

So elegant, kathleen ...everything is perfection!!! I feel like I'm being seated at what I imagine an Academy Awards table would be or the White House!

I am just in awe at how you choose the perfect accessories, stemware, flatware, linens & place-settings! The top hat is just so 'romantic' & adding the touch of 'reds' looks grand with all the B&W, silver & crystal on your table! Crystal S&P NY shakers ...so unique!

But your Top Hat table - is Stunning
I agree elegant and romantic with so many lovely touches.
Such beautiful linens, chargers, china, crystal & silver pieces besides the
CP and little placesetting top hats!
So much attention to detail.
Just wanted you to know I've been following
your tables on your blog... You always amaze me with what you do...

I got a chance to do so here.
I love ALL the wonderful food you prepare too!
I know if I lived closer to you, I'd convince you to do cooking classes and I'd be your first 'sign up' !~

I think instead of Black Tie Optional, it should be Black Tie Required for this gorgeous table!
