Snowlady 's Dancing On The Table Tonight

I started putting away some of my snowmen last weekend. But decided to save my old fiber optic snow lady to use as a table cp. She is quite pretty lit up but I couldn't capture it with my wonderful photography skills.LOL Oh well will share this ts anywho.

I found the pinecone candle holders at JoAnn's after Christmas this year for $2 ea. Added some faux snow in the candle holders and a few more cinnamon pinecones.

I had already dug out my Valentine decor and redecortated my buffet so you'll get a glimpse of it in the back ground. I put this little snowie in the top drawer to help camouflage it.

Did you notice my $1 store cardinals so many of you have? So glad they still had these when I made it down there. Thanks again, You Enablers!

Notice little snowie on the floor beside the buffet? Not really the look I was hoping for so he'll be heading to the tote!haha

We are in for more snow the next few days so I'll get to play with more of my snowie dishes. After all the Christmas decor it's funny to only have 2 totes for Valentines Day. I'm thinking that's enough tho. Since it's been a year since I've taken my snow dishes out it's like Christmas all over again.HA

What a fun table! I love the little snowman coasters(?)
The red and green snowflake plates are perfect with the placemats. Is there a center design on the middle plates?

The repetition of the frosty trees in the stemware and the CP is a nice touch. Your pretty red flatware is similar to the cream handled set that Kathe and I both got last year.

Good thing Karen isn't close to you or your cardinals might end up MIA, LOL.

This is a perfect table for the season. I really enjoy having some decor left out after the Christmas is put away. It doesn't seem like the house is so bleak. I think you did a super job with your snow lady table.

I can never capture the fiber-optics lit up either, or the right exposure for the Christmas lights when they are lit up!

This table ALMOST makes me want to sing "Let It Snow." Operative word...almost. HA HA

Punk - I agree that this is such a fun table with so many cute goodies to look at! I spotted your 'Snowie Person' in the background (a real cutie) right away...clever you - hiding your Valentine decor...lol
Love the little snowman coasters too and the little snow babies are darling.
Your Snowlady makes a perfect CP, and she looks so pleased with herself as the 'center of attention'. It's hard taking pictures and trying to capturing the lights at the right moment.
I like the way you arranged ea placesetting with the placemats, snowflake and checked plates along with the colorful napkins. Those stems are pretty too - have you used them before?
Glad you got a chance to use your Snow Dishes before you have to put them away again. I'll be looking forward to your Valentine decor coming up next!

Alison, that was a VERY creative and clever theme! My favorite is also 'Why? Because you wanted one and 2 are okay." I personally have (ahem) 5 wood and 2 plastic. And yes, the first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem. Just make sure you're not cutting alone too often or people will start talking. I too love The Tassajara Bread Book! This is the 2nd time we've been there - last month we used a $25 coupon, but we found this place has $25 entrees. Since it was DH's bday, this time we bought $50 coupon, I ordered a romaine salad (came grilled - yuck!), he ordered calamari appetizer, we figured we'd share. Well, his $11 appetizer turned out to be one 4" squid, 1 clam, and 2 baby octopi so he ate it all himself. He ordered a $24 entree (risotto with sausage and brussel sprouts - sounded good except for the brussel sprouts), I ordered a special lobster tail in kind of a tomato-based (turned out to be almost Fra Diavlo!) chowder that ended up being $29. Add a couple of glasses of wine, coffee, 1 dessert sampler and we had no trouble going over the $100 before tip. On the bright side, we got to open the envelope they gave us in December - DH was hoping for the $500 gift certificate or even a free meal (would be around $100), but it ended up being a cooking class for 4 people. Date TBD. I don't know if this will be a private class or if we're going to be with other winners, since they gave away 12 of these. I'm sure they won't have 48 people at a time in the kitchen LOL but maybe 12? I was thinking of asking my cousin K and her sister - will have to see if K is up to it. Dh suggested my mom but no way would she be interested in Italian (esp. fancy-pants Italian) cooking class. We did see on Restaurant.com that they've added more family-style places in our area (incl. my parents' favorite Italian place) so we're going to have to buy some certificates for those while they're half off (and with a $10 free certificate to restaurant of your choice with every order, the coupon we used Sat night ended up being free so we still had a nice meal for $88 after tip). DH wanted more kid-friendly places, DS is no problem but DD is so picky and antsy, I told him "Friendly's (local ice cream parlor chain, burgers, hot dogs and such) doesn't participate, sorry!" But a nearby pizza place (not our favorite but OK) does, we'll have to see if it's good for dine-in only or takeout OK. Hey, I came back to show you this CL ad (went a little farther from home, Fairfield Cty where the formerly rich Wall st types live). Do you think this "china table" might work for b/t my windows, to put DVD player on, if dimensions are right? Yes, BM does live out of state (3 hours away) and I'm sure SD misses her...But yes, BM is unfit. I am talking about drug use, alcoholism, abandonment for 2 1/2 years, constant fighting between BM and her husband when the skids visit and her husband is very cruel to my skids verbally. Last month, BM's husband announced to his kids and my skids that BM was not allowed to get MY skids for at least the next visit because she was spending all of her money on visitation weekends and not helping financially. He then told my skids directly that if their BM comes to get them the next weekend that he WOULD kick her out of his house. BM apparently just sat there. We do know that BM's husband spent some time in jail for domestic violence against his first wife...do not know if he is hitting BM though. What concerns me most is that this drama has turned BM into a victim in the kid's eyes. Day after day is drama...and the kids are caught up in protecting her and worrying about her. Add to this that BM feels guilty as well for all the drama which adds another issue. SD knows BM feels guilty...and she takes advantage of this every chance she gets. Every other day SD is asking BM for something new. A new haircut. A new pair of shoes. A new calculator. A new jacket. Earrings. A bigger cell phone plan. DVD's. It's constantly ongoing. The whole thing is unsafe and unhealthy in my opinion. At one point, after the kids finally started seeing BM again (after she came out of hiding after 2 1/2 years) SD told us that she wanted to move in with her Mom. DH told her that he just didn't feel BM's house was stable enough. SD then cried and said that her BM was trying to get her husband to stop drinking...SD said that if she had more time at BM's house she could help BM to get her stepdad to quit drinking also but that 4 days a month was not enough time to help him. I had to leave the room in tears...She was 12 years old. The relationship with BM is not a healthy one...but at least it was somewhat limited...until the UNLIMITED texting came about last month. Now let me add that BM's life is so screwed up that she LOVES to hear negatives about our life. The skids have constantly told me about her asking about my job or how DH and I are doing. If I do something special for the skids, she either downplays it or tries to outdo me...(Remember the story about Christmas 2007? I told her in November what I was getting the skids. She had Christmas that year so we were going to have our Christmas when they got back...Ironically BM got them EVERYTHING I told her that I had bought them. When they got back to our house they just opened the same stuff they had got a week earlier from BM...not quite as exciting, you know?) I can't make BM disappear...but I certainly don't want her knowing about every sneeze I have.

I was thinking yesterday--life hasn't changed YET. Church: I go to adoration on my way to work and find Father saying Mass--telecasting on Facebook and stayed so, so far that is all same same. This Sunday it won't be. DH goes to work as usual, I do to--my 'work' has changed as students are 'on line' but still. Card group is cancelled..we take our walks as weather permits as usual.DH's compound bow league has been on until this coming week but it was near the last weeks anyway. Our offspring all live in other States. They all continue to work--DD#1 is working from home managing her counties website. DD#2 is working on a treatment in her laboratory for this virus. The cows are peculating--it's about three weeks out yet. Son like father is doing his engineering thing...I think those of us who are not movers and shakers who are home bodies are really not as affected. I shop once a week. Will go this morning at 6 as usual..will get what I can. Yesterday shopping the local walmart for students, what I saw says I will be able to get what I want--milk/fresh vegis/fruit. I buy sales so have a freezer full of meat and staples. Stay calm enjoy being out of the rat race. Life here in the quiet simpler lives is really not so bad.

Candy, the center plate is just another red one like the other two w/snowflakes. The set also has dark blue plates that match. The red flatware is Cambridge. I just got this set for Christmas.

Jane, I feel bad I don't remember who gave me the set of coasters but now I can show them I used them if they ask.LOL I have used my stems before. I think I got them at Ross.

If Candy sings, 'Let It Snow'. Is that like doing a rain dance?Scary!!! I think it is going to happen any how so sing to your hearts content Candy.LOL It would be nice to get rid of some of this before being dumped on again.Dang

Everything goes so well together the little cardinals and snow babies are perfect. I love the little coaster.

Boy, you also found the perfect napkins to go w/the 2 top plates in your placesettings! So cute! Must say I love those fleece(?) coasters, too...way cute!

And the stemware is so pretty w/the pine tree etchings! Love 'em! Your fiber optic snowman is adorable...yes, about impossible to photograph those lights! Cute anyway! And all your greenery, pine cones & candlelight!...makes it a cozy 'snowy' Winter t'scape! Love the beautiful lacey t'cloth underneath it all, too!

Nana, I would send you my stems but I like them too. Not quite ready to give them up! I didn't see any of these this year while shopping. Sometimes Ross and TJ Maxx carries the same ones for a few years.

Isn't it about time for you to set another ts? I found 3 of the big stone napkin rings. Was it you who used on one of your tables? I'll have to figure out how to use them on one of mine.

Jeanne, glad you liked the napkins with the plates too. I wasn't sure if I would go green, red or white until I opened the drawer with these and Bingo. I wanted to start decorating my hutch but just didn't have the get up and go tonight. So instead I've sat here and consumed a whole bag of sunflower nuts while posting and texting.Darn

Thanks for the comments. I may get Friday off so who knows what I'll come up with if I get 3 days off in a row. I'm hoping to play with DGD at least one day.

Punk, Darn. I was hoping to get those stems lol. I'll have to check around my area for some.
My DD and I spent several hours yesterday trying to upload pics to photo bucket with no luck.
She is very good with computers and was stymied and had to give up. Very discouraging.
I used big diamond napkin rings on my April BD ts.

Nana, so sorry to hear your having issues uploading pictures to photobucket. Could it be as simple as your computer has popups blocked so it will not allow you to upload? I've had alot of issues with my computer lately. I had to go in and type Kathe's first part of her address to finally be able to view her last post.

I remember your April ts. Thanks for reminding me. I will have to pull it up again. I have 1 ea red, blue and green so not as pretty as your diamonds! This would of been the table I should of tried them on since I have all three colored plates.Opps

Hope you can find some of the stems.

Punk, that is such a lovely table. Everything about it! Eye Candy galore ;o). I'm going to be lazy tho and just "ditto" what others have said on the individual pieces.

Oh, no worry with me coming after your cardinals...LOL. I got several of them from my DT when they had them. I hit mine with the Krylon clear GLOSS spray, it gives them a nice sheen and really brings up the colors so prettily. (I am notorius for doing that to resin, or matte ceramic pieces to give them more of a porcelain look.
