Advice please 48' GE Monogram too good of a deal to pass???
Comments (4)What are the features of that specific unit? If I wasn't going to be using it right away, I would wait until I was ready and get what I want. I have a friend who works for a GE subsidiary who was able to give me access to GE's Friends and Family website; shortly after, my husband's company also offered the same deal with GE. I just took a quick look on the site to see the current price--if the fridge you're looking at is the highest end unit, then you have a good price. (Sorry I can't be more specific, I promised not to reveal prices.) I bought 3 ovens there for my new house, but passed on the other appliances because I liked other brands better. I bought the Electrolux Icon all-refrigerator and all-freezer plus the trim package, which gives it the really cool finishing touch. Have you considered these units? You should be able to get everything for $4000 or less. They are gorgeous inside and out, and so far, have been working beautifully....See MoreAre GE Monogram Refrigerators dependable?
Comments (9)I have the 48" side by side GE Monogram built in. I've had it about a year now. I have really liked everything, except the icemaker. We decided not to get the through the door ice/water dispenser. The problem is there is not any simple way to remove the ice bin for dumping ice. And also, the bin is fairly deep and so it's not the easiest to reach over the lip and down into the bin to get ice as the opening is rather small. The other problem is that the ice spills over the sides of the bin in the back and so I end up with several ice cubes on various freezer shelves, depending on where they fall through to. I suspect that not many people opt for this ice maker set up (not through the door) and the company probably just sticks the same ice maker in for both models. I don't know, but these things make it highly annoying!...See MoreGE Monogram Hood Model #ZV750
Comments (2)I had a different model GE Monogram hood (ZV800) and it was perfectly fine. It did blow out a halogen bulb once but not a fuse--replacements were easy at Target (!). I wouldn't have a problem buying another Mono hood if they weren't so darned overpriced. If you have a good deal and can get warranty coverage, go for it! (Do check the warranty if it's a private party sale.)...See MoreGE Monogram 'In Use' Update
Comments (6)I would also like to laud the monogram service. We had an issue with our newly installed hood being too loud. A GE tech. with 20+ years came out and showed me how it was wrongly installed. He even fudged the service records so I did not have to pay in spite of it being my problem. I really like the fact that they did not send out a tech. who knows nothing about the appliance - that is what happened when I needed service on my Bosch dishwasher....See Morekaismom
