MtnRdRedux - we already bought the RH medicine cabinet last year (this has been a very long DIY project) so I'm hoping we don't have the same problem you experienced. They are not inexpensive so that's disappointing to hear. I love the limestone and saw some today that could work. Also love slate for the walls and lukkiirish's photos but I'd like to stay lighter for this bathroom. The fireclay tiles are very interesting - I might need to look into those for a kitchen backsplash if not the bathroom. Not sure about metal panels, although that sounds very cool. The good news is I went to Arizona Tile today and might have found some tumbled marble 4x8 tiles that could work with my other selections. I need to pick up the slate and pebble order this week to be sure because I didn't take home the samples but I'm really liking this tumbled Carrera and Manhattan marble. The Manhattan has less pattern and some pieces are almost solid white while others seem a bit warmer with grayish blue or green undertones. There was also a larger 16x24 honed Soto marble piece that might work for the shower seat and curb/threshold. I also looked at the crema marfil, which seemed more ivory than pink - but the salesperson did say this stone could have pink undertones depending on what's in stock. I'm fortunate to not give a damn about what's trendy or in fashion or will affect my resale value, and lucky to have found a Mrs. Pandy who feels the same. We're just finishing a master bath redo (with wood-look tile) and had our kitchen renovated and enlarged a few years ago, and never once cared about what is 'in' when choosing colors, tiles, cabinets, etc. It's our house and we put what we like in it. For years I've told her that if she wants a pool, we'll get one, and so what if we never get the money back when selling. We never get the money back that we spend on dinners out, or vacations, or almost anything else we do for enjoyment.

Dottie - I could not have done this without an educated designer - it's not just about the design choices although I would never have come up with design choices as my brain isn't hardwired in those kinds of visually imaginative ways. I can appreciate things but I don't know how to pull them together and I wouldn't have the ability to figure out where to even start in terms of the sea of vendors. I am good about researching appliances and functions but get lost in the sea of visual possibilities :-) And I can't even imagine dealing with codes and such since Los Angeles is code crazy - I wanted to move some floor electrical outlets up a bit from the floor as I found it difficult to reach them when I had some hip issues so I was thinking about for the future - I was told that if I move a plug, the whole thing has to be rewired back to the panel box. And the darn kitchen sink has to be approved by the UL LOL - who would think a kitchen sink could be dangerous.

While I think that tile is pretty - I don’t think I’d like a huge shower of it in my bathroom. I’d limit it to one wall in the shower - or on the wall behind the vanity. I definitely would not use a shade of blue on the floor also. I’ve purchased this tile for the wall behind my vanity. I’ve had a few people advise me to not use it - and to instead bring this color into the space with accents (towels/floor mats/art). I just am “in love” with it - and feel like I’ll regret it if I don’t use it - so, I’m still struggling with this decision. I’d rather use a tile with less movement in the actual tile. These are other tiles I saved while hunting for one to use on my bathroom vanity wall: I’ve also thought about bringing in the color with paint by using SW Sea Salt on my bathroom walls: Another Sea Salt bathroom - I don’t like the strip of accent tile - but I really like the wood ceiling.
