5000lb? Thats suprising, but I believe you. A 4.6l is just enough for a car the size of an Expedition let alone be towing with it, and yes the 5.4l would make a huge difference in this case. My Explorer has the towing package on it and is rated to tow 7000! So at 3800, I'm just over 1/2 of what it's rated for and pulling the trailer, I can actually out accelerate my 94 Ranger with a 3.0l. I wish I knew more about those '04 Hemi's to give you some better advice, but typically they would mostly still be under warranty so I have not had much exposure to them for servicing. It does stike me as odd that these things are sitting this long unsold. Plus, I remember seeing reports about some tranny issues when towing with the Ram trucks that had to do with lubrication of the hard parts. (Planet assemblies) I spent a few minutes looking for that information exactly but came up empty. That makes it quite likely that I could be thinking of models that are a couple years older. Best bet is to ask the tranny guy at the dealership how these have been holding up, and if there is anything he recommends be added, such as an additional cooler etc.

The Jeep Cherokee is unibody construction - no frame- although the members around the engine are hefty. So, whatever model of plow you select, make sure that it fastens to the stong points on the body. Come to think of it, maybe it would be a good idea to get advice from the dealer as to which plows are acceptable. The front wheels drive the vehicle through control links and bushings. I'm not sure how the rear wheels are fastened to the body on the newer Jeeps. The older ones had a standard solid axle construction and drove through leaf springs set in bushings. One end of the leaf springs set in a link and do not transmit driving force to the body; The other ends of the springs are held in a bracket with a bolt and bushing, and this end transmits the driving force. Make sure that the driving bushings at both front and rear wheels are in good shape before attaching a plow.

I didn't read all the way through this thread. But I love Ford and Chevy trucks. Will never buy a Dodge product again. I currently have a Toyota Sequoia (essentially the same thing as a Tundra) and I adore it. My DH has a 96 Tacoma that he's had since brand-new, and it is an amazing little truck. That said, it's little. I'd personally never want a little truck. I know that's funny, being a female, but I *love* trucks. Lol. I would buy a F350 in a heartbeat if I could justify it, having to haul four kids around. My uncles, all farmers, always had Ford or Chevy trucks. I had a Chrysler T&C Van (Dodge product) and as a result, will never buy a Dodge product again. Worse purchase of my life. I know I said that already, but I can't say it enough. Get what you love. Perhaps look at used vehicles, cause I think that's where the real deals are. My DH knew I wanted a Sequoia with all my heart, and when I found one used at Carmax, he gave his blessing. I've had it now for over 2 years, it's a 2003, and no problems except for one, which the extra warranty I bought covered.

That is what I am reading about, Lisa G. Our 12x12 glue down vinyl tiles in Colorado withstand a lot of temp changes but it's not like in TX, where it can be 80 one day and snow 2 days later and be in the low 30's. CO also does not have the humidity TX does. The foundation is crawlspace and subfloor is unknown. Assume plywood but I have not lifted the existing vinyl. The downstairs bedroom, upstairs and staircase have the original wood flooring. I could hope that is what is under the vinyl but I am thinking it is particle board sub floor, just by what seems to be under a piece that is coming up by the stair case. Sheet vinyl may be the way we have to go if our uncontrolled climate conditions will make plank not ideal. Thanks
