Need help finding Honda CRX Pistons

Hi All, I've been searching for pistons (not rings) for a 91 Honda CRX HF

D15B6

I need 4 pistons 0.20 or larger. I seem to be having no luck searching the web so either these are really rare or I'm just not doing the right search... I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

You can get them at any dealer starting at 25 over or any
engine rebuilder.

Hi Kalining, checked with the dealer yesterday and they do not have these. They were able to locate 1 piston (it was in CA I believe). We need 4.

I found my Honda repair shop at the honda web site. The site lists dealers and certified repair shops. Eventhough I had a dealer in town, I had to drive 50 miles to a certified repair shop. So far, I have been satisfied. Hope this helps.

I don't believe the roller model was ever sold or at least not in volume here in the states. The model number is not a typical sequence for U.S. models. Not to say some didn't make it across the pond but pretty certain this was a European model. Non U.S. models are not shown in parts or service manual materials over here. There are some Aussie members here who may have seen them but I doubt any U.S. members have.

Yes you reset field coils current using a drill turning backwards by hand to get go back to gen trigger on drill needs pulling that make contact back to gen a gen setting a long time loose field and simple drill are any small motor turn in revere charge gen just turn chuck 3 or 4 times backwards then crank gen should run drill in forward if this what gen needed. There a machine that cost a lot money that do same thing as drill. Most drill are reversible now so good change you have one that run both direction it got to be a reversible tool that charge gen set some of china loose ability to make current sooner than others.

The most likely cause of a brake lamp warning lamp being on of course is that one or more of the bulbs are in fact burned out, or not working because of some kind of a bad connection. BTW, it cannot be a "short", because a shorted circuit means it has lower than the correct total resistance, and that causes too much current to flow which results in a blown fuse. In short, shorts blow fuses. (Pun partially intended, :) VBG) Other likely causes are an incorrect bulb, such as an 1156 (single terminal and filament) where an 1157 (dual terminals and filaments for both parking lamps and turn/stop in the same bulb) should be. It can even be because an 1157, which flows "X" amps might be installed where a 2057 should be. A 2057 in all ways appears to be identical to an 1157, but put a current probe on the circuit, and you will see they each draw a different amount of current, this is normally represented as the wattage of the lamp. This can be critical for cars that have illumination sensing devices. There is at least one other bulb that looks identical to the 1157, and the 2057, but once again the difference is the current load it has on the circuit (wattage), and it is exclusively for a particular feedback system. It is always necessary to look up what bulb is called for in a particular car. 194's and 168's are both a peanut size, with identical socket conections. But they are different wattage bulbs, which means once again that they draw different amounts of current. A 168 is normally an instrument cluster bulb, and a 194 is predominantly a side marker. If you put a 194 where a 168 should be, it will overheat it's socket and any surrounding plastics. Put a 168 where a 194 should be and it will be slightly dimmer than that lamp was originally designed to be. Lastly there is always the chance that there is an instument cluster problem, or a problem with the lamp module. You would be best advised to seek out a technician familliar with this system to have it diagnosed correctly.

I checked our dealer and they can get them. They are a back order from the U.S. I can get all i want at 25 over. My machine shop can also get any pistons i want at any quantity in any size. I'm in canada so i'd phone around because the pistons you want come from the U.S. and they are readily avalable. Maybe you phoned the wrong dealer ?
What about your machine shops ? I can order them for you and send them out when they get here. About one month. That
is from the Honda dealer. Your missing something.

Kalining, the pistons you found are for the D15B6? 8 valve engine? There were only a certain number of these cars made and according to our dealer, there are no replacement pistons except the 1. They checked the national Honda warehouse in CA. Supposedly this list checks the entire list of Honda dealerships in the US. It's imperative that these fit the D15B6. Here is the thing. A dealer will have O.E.M. only. I'm very suprized our dealer found your pistons. Yes these are for the D15B6. Your best bet is to contact your engine rebuilders for after market pistons. You could call
1-800-4878341. Ask for Allan. It's Harvest Honda. Steinbach
Manitoba. They can get you a set but Honda only makes 25 over. They have to order them from the U.S. so i'd ask your dealer if they know what they'er doing or ask them to
put you in touch with a dealer that knows what they'er doing because to get the pistons you want i order them from your dealers. Something wrong here. No offence but every time i look at this site it seems no U.S. dealer has a clue what the hell is going on with any car they sell. They can't even fix it. Just my opinion. Good luck.

Kalining, just jumping back in here to say you were right, lol! We checked with a different dealer and they say they're on backorder but they can get them. Glad I asked here because with not being able to locate them on the net and trusting what our local dealer said, we were about to give up on the car.

RESEARCH. I usually phone every dealer and parts company in the book. Someone some where has to have what i want or know someone that has it. Glad to help. Hope everything goes as planned. ( yah right, as if it gets that easy ).
